Just updating my primary character's card.
Name: Alistar
Race: Nord
Gender: Male
Age: Early 30's
Class: Ranger
Looks:
Alistar is both tall and physically well built, his lean muscle mass coming from years of constant training and experience as a ranger. Decades of exploring and adventuring show on him in the form of many scars, mostly along his torso and arms. His face is well sculpted, with a strong chin and jawline covered in rough stubble, and pronounced cheekbones set beneath his pair of strong, pale blue eyes. Framing his face is shoulder length brown hair, worn long as most Nords do.
Alistar wears exclusively lightweight armor, always wanting to stay light on his feet and much preferring to dodge blows in contrast to absorbing them through heavy armor. He wears a leather cuirass, with matching boots and gauntlets to complement. Over this, he wears a dark green/grey cloak with the hood normally pulled over his head.
When push comes to shove, Alistar comes equipped with a steel sword which has served him well throughout the years. In case he's disarmed or needs to quickly eliminate his target with low-profile methods, he's also packing an Elven dagger that was forged in Valenwood. However, Alistar much prefers to take out targets with his wooden recurve bow, having made it himself years ago, it holds much sentimental value to him.
Personality: Alistar tends to be soft spoken when dealing with strangers, however, he always speaks with clear direction and doesn't shy away from speaking his mind. He holds no prejudice toward the other races of Nirn, normally trying to keep an open mind on things, he's a very intelligent and experienced man who's most at home outdoors, and is a very capable hunter and forager. Around friends and companions, he can be quite open about things and enjoys the company of those who have earned his trust. However, he fiercely guards one secret which he always keeps to himself, a dark and sinister secret.
Story: Alistar was born into a happy and humble life in a log cabin situated just north along the Cyrodillic/Skyrim border. His father was a hunter who provided for his family, despite the poor financial situation and his mother was an alchemist who commonly told the young boy stories. Stories of witches and ghosts, of knights and goblins and of vampires and werewolves. One foggy night, under the light of a full moon, a rogue werewolf found Alistar's home and slaughtered his parents, nearly killing the boy as well had he not plunged the broken silver pommel of his father's sword into the beast's eye. Although the werewolf retreated in pain, Alistar had lost his parents, and he had been bitten by the beast, he didn't know at the time but he now bore the curse.
Not long after, a band of cloaked archers found the home, and the horrific scene inside. They took the unconscious boy with them as they headed back to their compound. When Alistar awoke, he found himself under the care of a network of Rangers operating all along Tamriel. These Rangers were known as the Striders, a guild which sought to protect Tamriel's wilds and defend the Empire. Alistar was placed under the care of a man named Erador, a wise old man who protected the boy and brought him up. He also taught Alistar how to suppress the beast within him, with lycanthropy, the urge to let free the beast within is always there, the monster always struggling to get free. Under the full moon, the lust for flesh is at it's strongest, and this is when most succumb to the desire. But through meditation, a clear mind and willpower Alistar was able to go many years without transforming.
From the beginning, times were tough for the Striders. They were losing men day after day assisting the Empire against the Thalmor invasion, all Alistar wanted to do was finally make a difference. He underwent training to become a Strider, but by the time he was ready for action it was nearly too late. The Striders had been pushed out of Cyrodiil and Valenwood, and the Skyrim chapter was being crushed. Justicars were wiping out compound after compound, the first time Alistar saw action was when he was desperately trying to defend his home. Erador, the man he considered a father, was dead, everybody had perished. He fled into the night, his heart heavy with guilt as he barely escaped.
From then on, Alistar has been seeking for any trace of surviving Striders, years after years of scouring the land have come up with nothing. At times he's convinced he's the last of his kind, but nonetheless, he will continue searching, the strength of the Striders carry him on everyday. He's lived his life as one, and he will die as one.
