Hey Guys. I'd really like to get some of your opinions on this. The other day I realised why I love this game so much; it's because (imo) it's just like an updated version of my favourite game of all time Zelda Link to the Past on SNES. I must have played that game thru at least 5 times as a teenager. So later today I'm going to create my 4th character and it's going to be Link...

Obviously he will be a wood elf. He'll specialise in archery and also use a sword and board. So... Archery and One Handed perks... should I put some into Block too?

So where I'm really stuck is the armor. Although Link would probably really have light armor he's not really a sneak either. I could either go all out roleplaying and have him just wear green elf clothes or what I'm leaning towards is heavy armor. I've done all Thieves Guild and DB quests with other characters and also Link would never be a thief or assassin so can't use any of those armors. So that really only leaves my guy with Glass armor in the Light category... And the heavy armor just looks cooler. What do you guys think?

What other perks do you think I should go for? I'm think maybe Smithing and Alchemy?
No magic except scrolls?

His allegiance will be to the Empire cos he's a goody goody... Could he be a member of the Companions? I'm not sure. Thinking no... Can't see Link ever becoming a werewolf...

Any ideas at all would be really really useful as I'm a bit stuck. Thank you!

I'd go with light for role-playing purposes. If no magic, then alchemy for sure. I think if Link were in TES he would do alchemy for sure. Smithing: yes. And you gotta make a longsword and call it the 'master sword' of course :)

Green clothes, leather boots, gauntlets, and a hood would be the best fit. Enchant a shield with magic resist and a sword with magic damage. These will be your "rewards" from dungeon crawling.

As for skills it should be: One handed, block, archery, enchanting and alchemy. You can train up light armor and smithing if you want some more protection. Or you could just turn down the difficulty. No need to beat the game on master you are just testing out a build here.

Grab a female follower and leave her in a BIG dungeon. Than make up a story and go save her!

Link can't turn into a werewolf??? i guess you've never played LoZ: Twilight Princess. Although he turned into a wolf, not technically a werewolf.

That's right he would morph into a wolf, But he only killed bad guys, so perhaps you could be a werewolf with a strict moral code.

Hey guys! Thank you so much for your input. I didn't get the chance yet to make this character but when I do this is going to really help my build. I don't know what I was thinking to be honest when I was considering going down the heavy armor road. I guess it's just cos I haven't used it with any of my characters yet and I really wanna see the daedric armor. I guess I will just have to make a 5th character after Link to experience that.

The Master Sword is brilliant. I just wish I could afford the perks for one and two handed but I don't see how I will.

No I never played Twilight Princess. The only other Zelda game I played was the Ocarina one but it didn't have the same effect on me as Link to the Past. I kinda stopped playing video games after the snes and have just started again at the age of 30! I guess my Link could join the Compainons after all (I haven't done that faction yet)

Thank you again chaps! Great stuff!

you could use alteration to buff up his armor ive seen green clothes lying around in the game. i cant see the pick. stoneflesh or oakflesh would be a nice buffer.

That's a nice idea. I'm not sure about him using magic but I am at the point now where I could start investing in another perk tree. What I've been trying to do is enchant his green elf clothes to a high enough level. Not sure if it's really a viable way of working. Illusion may have been a better idea. When he's not in towns he's in elf armor and well, I have to use my imagination a lot.

If you could see the pic he looks a lot older than the Link we're used to. I imagine that all the fame he got in Hyrule saving all the princess' really went to his head. He went down a bad road and developed a skooma habit. Eventually he fled Hyrule to try and live in seclusion in Skyrim but well and as soon as he got there all these bloody dragons turned up...

yeah i can see that trying to live like charlie sheen and his princess's. i was just making a suggestion so he wouldnt have to wear armor at all. the stoneflesh gives you an armor rating of 60 for 60 secs till you get the perks up a bit.

What color did you make the eyes. I'm trying to create a Link too (sounds kinda weird if you think about it...) and the Wood Elf race doesn't have a blue eye color, which is really getting at me. I've also considered just screwing it and making him an Imperial, but I am determined not to. Any help?
