The True Archmage Challenge
We all know that in Skyrim, the game, anyone can become Archmage by completing a few easy quests, even if you have literally [almost . . . stoopid Tolfdir!] never cast a single spell. But let's think about who, in Skyrim the World, would actually ascend to that lofty title. Who would be the True Archmage!?

- Cannot take any perks outside of the magic category and alchemy
- Cannot be female. No, I'm not sexist, but I AM beardist. The archmage must be impressively endowed with hirsute majesty. A neatly trimmed black goatee is acceptable for the Young Turks, but a long, shaggy, white boot tangler is the surest route to legitimacy
- Nord archmages are allowed to violate rule one with regard to weapons only. They are kind of like a Klingon supply officer assistant: A huge pussy by Klingon standards, but still able to kick anyone else's ass
- Must have Master perks in Alteration and at least one other school (not including Restoration, since everyone knows that's not a real school of magic)
- Cannot be an elf except High Elf. This IS Skyrim after all. Altmer are pretentious enough to get away with it, but no one would take the others seriously
- Cannot have ever worn armor. For any reason. Ever. No, not even then. If you have time to train armor, then why haven't you mastered every school of magic yet? (This is an actual paraphrase from my graduate advisor, who asked a similar question after overhearing two students discuss an episode of "Lost")
- Must have a near-complete book collection. There's no way to really quantify this, but suffice it to say if you have any empty bookcases, even with the "Unlimited Bookshelves" mod installed, you probably don't qualify. Also, if you hear there's an "Unlimited Bookshelves" mod out there and don't drop everything to go install it, you probably don't qualify
- Must always train Magicka, the only exception being if you have too many circlets, staves, and soul gems and you can't bear to drop any, so you train stamina for the sole purpose of carrying your filthy lucre back to your den
- You know, secretly, deep down inside where it really matters, that yes, the College IS actually responsible for most of Winterhold falling into the ocean. And you're kind of proud of that
- Some people, upon finding out they are the one person in generations chosen by the gods to be Dragonborn, would be awed and humbled by the trust and responsibility heaped upon them. You just assumed all along that you could kill a dragon if must needs
- Must want to rule the world
