Bound Weapons????

I have been playing a "Death Knight" build, more of a summoner slash and hack, but "Death Knight" sounds so much cooler. What I have been seeing with my bound sword is that it is consistently more powerful than anything I am picking up minus any bonus. Does anyone know if this will be true further down the road?
I can live without the bonuses to stay true to my build so I am just interested in base damage.

Lvl 24 Death Knight - Conjuration @ lvl 64 - 1 Handed @ 56 if this matters for the answer.

Crafted weapons will out perform bound weapons dramatically dependant on crafting skill.

If you didn't take crafing up, then I would expect them to be able to carry themselves well, with the exception of a few unique weapons found later in the game (at higher levels).

I am glad that choosing smithing for armor is going to pay off in weapons later.
