Actually the north one the war, due to the successes of Grant and Sherman during the war. Also, Lee was just a general, Jefferson Davis was the confederate president. Anyway, the north and south signed a treaty, ending the war and abolishing slavery all over the U.S. Then President Lincoln was assassinated a few months later by Booth who thought he was on a mission from God, and that the south would be supportive of his deed. The south, however, wasn't so proud of Booth because Lincoln was fighting to help rebuild the south, while a lot of others in politics didn't want to spend government money helping them. The End.
