PC Battle at Windhelm help needed

I cannot get to the Palace of Kings. NOT because of the wooden barracades. But there are piles of rocks blocking my path to the courtyard... if I go through the cemetery there is a pile of rock or if I want to go the other way up over the bridge towards the Oddities store there is a pile of rocks. I can't jump over them. I know how to jump I just can't get over any of them. What am I missing. I have tried all routes and I just can't get there. Please help. Very frustrated. There must be a catch but the Official Guide doesn't address any thing except the wooden barriers...

I believe you have to fight through the cemetery and /or the market where the Phial and blacksmith are located, and break down the wooden barriers, then you have to go up by the player owned house and down that passage way.

Yes, thank you. I was frustrated that evening because I started that battle at midnight.. not the best time to start something major. I thought I knew the city fairly well but I didn't remember about that way past the player owned house. So I kept going all the wrong ways. But thanks for the responses. That video definitely would have helped. I had killed everyone in the city several times over and was just standing there alone going wtf? But that was a couple of days ago and I did get there... thanks.
