BASIC question: level up

Wiki isn't clear on this. When you select health, magic, or stamina upon level up, does this affect ONLY your max amount of those respective stats OR, does it also increase recovery rate of those stats.



For instance, lets say I pick magic 5x. Raises my magic total level, does my magic regenerate any faster?

I don't know to which Wiki site or articles you are referring but the UESP Skyrim Wiki articles on Magicka, Health and Stamina are very specific about this. All recovery is proportional to your total Magicka, Health or Stamina and slower during combat, so yes your recovery rate for each attribute increases as the value for the attribute increases.
