2. You check your lore. It's common knowledge that human scholars say elves did the first strike, while elven scholars claim the humans started acting out. What we do know is that the Snow Elves did the first genocide though (Saarthal, Night Of Tears).

Elves in TES are more often than not the aggressors. Mankind was actually quite peaceful and even named the land after the Elves who dwelled there.

Ignoring Skyrim, we have humans who were enslaved and tortured for entertainment in Cyrodiil.

Going beyond that we have the Aldmeri Dominion forming when the Colovians established a trade agreement with the Bosmer and the Altmer didn't want that. Then when Tiber Septim was conquering the human kingdoms the Dominion would attack the Empire in skirmishes.

The Dominion's repeated and failed attempts earned them the nickname "Old Mary" Dominion by the Legions.
