Hello all,

My 39 Khajiit Archer/Assassin is about ready to start enchanting gear. I have the set of Worn Shrouded Armor if I want to keep the "Assassin" look, but I assume Dragon-mail is an acceptable alternative as well.

Perks at 49 - http://skyrimcalculator.com/#85278

What do people recommend for dual enchanting gear? Here is what I was thinking:

Head: Archery / Water-breathing
Neck: Archery / Sneak
Chest: Ancient Shrouded for 100% Poison
Arms: Archery / Sneak
Finger: Archery / Sneak
Feet: One-Hand / Sneak

Bow (Daedric): Frost / Shock
Dagger 1 (Daedric): Fiery Soul Trap / Paralyze
Dagger 2: Mehrune's Razor
Shield: Block / Magic Resist

On my Sword & Board warrior, my main focus on gear was getting all resists to 100%, but with sneak-attacks, I feel like it's not as necessary. Have I overdone it on the sneak? It there a point where I have 100 sneak and all sneak perks that sneak enchants are just a waste? The plan is also to complete the Companions quest line for 100% disease resist as well.

I am in Heavy Armor and only have 2/5 in the Sneak perk, along with the muffle perk. My Sneak skill is at 100 and I practically have to bump into someone from the front to be noticed. Based on that, I would guess that the Sneak enchants are unnecessary if your skill is high enough.

To be fair, I have not done any of the Thieves guild or DB quests/missions, so it could very well be that a higher level of Sneaking is necessary at some point.

I'll be honest, the DB, Nightengale, or Guildmaster armours are great on their own. They have the right enchanting and can be upgraded pretty dang high w/o having to actually craft any armour. That and the bonuses from the light armour perk tree should be able to cap you out. Already havnig the rigt enchants for your gear. For an assassin the DB already has the perfect enchantment set up. Though your weapons you might want to tweak. Though I have not had any issues using the Nightengale Bow/Sword, Blade of Woe, and Mehrunes Razor.

I see a lot of sneak and archery, which isn't bad for a archer/assassin but your skill perk distribution makes you formidable in those areas already. I don't know the math behind the perk additions and whether or not you'll be completely 100% sneaky. I think I read somewhere that the max you could get was only like 80%, but I could be confused.

what I don't see is a lot of resistances. Your shield has some, but as an archer, you won't be using the shield so you won't get the resistance unless you switch to dagger and shield. You'd be better off not even taking the shield with you.

I think I would change things up a bit like this:
Head: Alchemy / Water-breathing
Neck: Fire Resist / Frost Resist
Chest: Ancient Shrouded for 100% Poison
Arms: Archery / (Light Armor or one-handed)
Finger: Magic resist / shock resist
Feet: Muffle / fortify stamina

Your enchanting skill perks are high, but I would suggest sucking down a Enchanters Philter(sp?), which I think has the higher/longer duration.

Your gear choices look good but maybe the Nightingale Armor for frost res/stamina fort. It's very nice to look at as well.

I love the look of the Nightingale Armor. I love the enchants on the Ancient Shrouded. But this pre-made gear simply cannot compare to dual (custom) enchanted armor.

I thought a lot about resists. As I said, my warrior (http://skyrimcalculator.com/#85315) is 100% resistant to everything which pretty much makes him invincible. But the whole point of a sneaky archer/assassin is to never get hit in the first place. I have stopped increasing hit points at 250 and everything goes into stamina now.

I think 4 sneak pieces might be overkill though - that is true. But I don't think 4 archery pieces is. Maybe something like this (for Dragonscale):

Head: Archery / Water-breathing
Neck: Archery / Sneak
Chest: Regen Health / Regen Stamina
Arms: Archery / One-Hand
Finger: Archery / One-Hand
Feet: One-Hand / Sneak

I still want dagger assassinations to be viable, so I like the 3 x One-Hand enchants. I wish I could maintain the double sneak damage glove enchant while also putting archery on them. :)

With the Silence perk, there is no need to have a muffle enchant on boots - which renders NG and DB boots useless. NG hood benefits Illusion spells (which I don't use) and Guildmaster's armor is all thiefy enchants (great for thief missions, but not for killing).

Take the water breathing off. Just have a ring of water breathing. Why, you can't fight underwater or anything else besides lock picking. Hell. Make it a water breathing/pick lock.

Take the sneak off and add Hauling (carry extra weight). At 70 sneak and a boots of stealth +15 (that I found) a wolf was in my face and wouldn't attack until I bumped him. It was dusk outside.

Is sneak really useful when your skill level is 100 in the sneak tree?

I dont have sneak on anything because i havent seen a boost when wearing gear enchanted with sneak.

I personally believe using a potion or secondary item for water breathing. I have a certain item from a certain priest that i wear when i want or need to go underwater for extended periods.

I carry around the Dark Brotherhood gloves for when i am going to use my blade but i committed to archery and rarely use my blade anymore. In fact, i keep forgetting to create and upgrade a new one with my enchanted smithing gear.

As another said, i think it would be best to add enchantments that will augment your weaker skills and your top skills.

I have

ring archery/conjuration
neck archery/carry
gauntlets archery/carry
Krosis/V-something
DB boots

Smithing/Enchanting broke my character again - so I opted for the best looking gear, screw the enchants.

I'm wearing full Nightingale with Ebony Bow and Dagger. There are no enchants on the weapons (although they were both improved significantly using +smithing gear and pots). I did make myself a ring and necklace. The necklace is archery/sneak; the ring is archery/one-handed.

Did you go up the heavy armour smithing route for the Ebony bow and dagger?

with all those perks in sneak don't bother with sneak enchants, you're already hard enough to spot as is and as an archer you won't even find yourself that close to begin with, go with as many stacking archery enchants as you can, and than focus on resists and utilities for your other enchants (such as water breathing, which is always nice).

I've never really got round to enchanting, i probably should

Khajiit will smell them coming.
Personally, my Assassin performs MUCH better in Ancient Shrouded, but is more of a badass in Nightingale. Either way, I get 1-hit kills if I sneak and I have Daedric Daggers and Bow, enchanted nicely with Smithing Gear. No double enchants, just one.

Most fortify archer enchants make your bow op, I did it my bow does 330 damage that made that character easy and boring, I have one shotted dragons, just something to think about.

This is my main char I'm
Playing now. I got every thing daedric almost. I have 100 in sneak (all maxed) and 100 in archery all maxed smithing and alchemy. Also I have illusion up enough to vast master spells. I have 2 enchantments on everything. Fortify archery a fortify illusion. 4 pieces of gear have -27% to illusion so illusion spells are free to cast. I use that dagger what ever his name is lucky dagger it has 25% chance critical. I use that dagger in right hand and invisibility on left. Vast invisibility all u want for free and 1 hit every one. I don't use shrouded gloves for 30% because 15% is enough to 1 hit most. So all gear gives me free invisible all I want. And the fortify archery has +170% to archery with all 4 pieces on. Rest of my enchants give resistances. I use the steed stone witch makes my heavy daedric armor like I'm naked. With this build you can sneak around and kill everyone. Even a full town of guards if u wish. And I have a daedric bow with fire and cold damage. I love this build it's a ton of fun.

If you are going for damage, Upgraded Daedric. I personally would put FireySoultrap, and something else. Probably Frost, because I use it on guys that are far away, why do I want them to get closer?
