In Riverwood, where you talk to Gerdur, Hod and Ralof. On the far western shore of that little island is a stump with ants or termites crawling across it. There are a few other locations where that type of stump is as well, but I can't remember them off hand.

Riverwood is the town I do really love. Throat of the World, from where you can see Skyrim. Daedric sword. Stalhrim Light Armor. Nittingale full armor. Dragon Aspect shout. Mayhem spell.

I agree... the very first time you avoid the headsman's axe at Helgen, fight your way out of the underground and run all the way down the hill and finally reach Riverwood, it is like an oasis in the desert. I spent a lot of time in and around that little town.
