I just did bound for death quest, somehow I was detected and I had to book it out of solitude. I ditched the guards early on and headed south, I kept trying to wait/fast travel but it wouldn't let me. I had to walk all the way back to the dark brotherhood sanctuary, almost a 20 minute run. I am literally across the map and it is still telling me that guards are in pursuit. Is this a glitch or are there guards after me, if so I will fight them because not being able to fast travel is bs.

Yeah that happens sometimes, I like that you cant travel when enemies are near but its lame that guards can seemingly pursue you across the world, what I did was I ran to an orc stronghold and eventually sure enough a single guard came running up the road.

You can go into any building or cave and when you exit they should be gone. Or you can go into a different city, go into a building, talk to someone, and leave and it should fix it.

Yh I was basically in the same situation and a guard persud me from one end of the map to another and actually arrested me in the dark brotherhood sanctuary

This also happened to me once, i just stood and waited, the guards were following me and when they showed up i killed them. Your problem sounds more like a glitch.

I think it was part of the game that u cannot just fast travel in the middle of a fight, it just wouldn't make sense

Or as they say in France, Stickeesox.

I don't think that was in question. The problem was, its hard to call a situation a battle or fight when the people fighting are half a continent apart. At some point, the distance and lack of los should have caused the guard to call it a day. But npc's in this game can see you no matter where you are at any time, regardless of stealth or invisibility unless... you put a bucket on their head.

Ok, I managed to fix it with the console.
I guess your problem is with Solitude, during the quest you have to kill the bride Victoria (I think that's her name)

If I'm right, or if you know the city where you commited the crime, do the next:

IF IT WAS IN SOLITUDE (KILL THE BRIDE), DO ONLY STEP 3 (after opening the console, obviously :p)

1) Open the console

2) ignore for now: type: help X 4 (where X is the name of the city. Ex: help solitude 4) then you will have a list (pgUP and pgDOWN to see through it)

Only do step 2 if the city you look for isn't here (It might be) :)
  • Eastmarch (Windhelm) - 000267E3
  • Falkreath Hold (Falkreath) - 00028170
  • Haafingar (Solitude) - 00029DB0
  • Hjaalmarch (Morthal) - 0002816D
  • The Pale (Dawnstar) - 0002816E
  • The Reach (Markarth) - 0002816C
  • The Rift (Riften) - 0002816B
  • Whiterun Hold (Whiterun) - 000267EA
  • Winterhold Hold (Winterhold) - 0002816F
3) Type player.paycrimegold 0 0 29DB0
(the first "0" is for keeping anything you stole, the second "0" is to keep you out of jail and 29DB0 is the code for solitude).

It might fix it. That's not a hack, since you will have your crime finance removed from your gold bag.
If you stole anything and want these items to be removed, type "1" instead of the first "0"

I stopped by the old Dark Brotherhood cave looking for my horse Shadowmare. When I came out there was a Perticulas Guard there ( you know those Emperor's guards) and even though the battle in that cave was weeks ago and I have bumped into many of them in the cities ( Solitude mainly) and they were never hostile towards me this dude wanted to fight!

I was alone and let him beat on me a bit to level up light armor and block and then used a Shout on him ( dismay I think) and he got scared and ran away.

Strange! I assume next time I see him he will be hostile also. In hindsight I should have killed him as now if I am on a mission and he has hostility he could mess up the mission especially if there are other types of these guards around.

I had that issue outside Markarth and i had to wait for 2 guards that they where chasing me and when they came i killed 'em and i could then fast travel.

You can hire a wagon while guards are after you. Did it outside of Solitude with a huge angry mob behind me.

I had a similar issue but so far it's only been with the DB quest to kill the bride in solitude. There are apparently three different ways of doing it. The first one I did I got caught and was hunted down and killed by the guards before even getting out of the city, even though I had hidden rather well. The second time, I managed to kill the bride and hide before anyone noticed and was able to walk out of the city. Once out side though I could not fast travel because of guards persuing me? I had not crime stats or anything like that. I did get on my horse and ride away towards Dragons Bridge. Once there I was able to fast travel.
SPOILER: I suspect that when you do this quest you get a "psuedo" follower in Dreezer (?, the argonian DB member) that is sent to "help" you escape. He definitely gets the guards attention, so I wonder if that's the reason.

I can hide from pretty much anything except.........(wait for it)......slaughterfish. Once you agro them, they can keep their 'eye' on you for a very, very looonggg time. Kind of silly in my opinion, especially when you're miles away from the water or 100's of feet above them on the Dragon's Bridge for instance.

I was able to fix this by just talking to the guard from Whiterun and saying I was the Jarl's thane and he let me go.

This threads old but I've got a bug since I planted the stolen saphire in Whindhelm and the guards were pretending to pursue me. It keeps telling me I can't fast travel because of guards. Quick saving with F5 and quick loading with F9 fixes it temporarily but I have to do it every single time I want to fast travel which is getting annoying.
