with sneak tree fully upgraded

does heavy armour have any sneaking disadvantages once youve done the sneak tree? seems like both armours would be silent then

You can get a perk on 70 Heavy armor which makes you armor weighs nothing and doesn't slow you down.
I'm not sure about the sound it, but I do know that getting to 70 is going to take a long time, especially when you play as a sneaky guy, which means you don't want to be detected and so you won't take any hits.
So yeah, light armor is the best choice.

I know I got a few of the heavy armor perks but I also made sure I had some piece of "muffle" equipment very early on. Then I disenchanted that piece and kept putting it on a better piece as I got improved equipment during my travels.
