Hey guys. I have tried to enter the Winterhold township but every time I discover it all th NPCs immediately turn hostile towards me (guards and civilians). Is there seomthing I have to do first or anything? Or is there any actions that can cause this (besides attacking the NPCs, obviously)?
Thanks in advance

The most obvious question is do you have a bounty ?

The Assassins have nothing to do with having a Bounty. What platform you are playing the game on ?

PC.
I have only completed the mission to go and speak with the greybeards and have only completed some minor sidequests and become a werewolf with the Companions. I have not sided with the emperials or stormcloaks.

Someone who plays on a PC will have to help you, I can't.

Can you check your crime stats? It should be listed there if you have any bounty on your head at the moment. But you've only had NPCs attacking you in Winterhold, and nowhere else?

Try this console command to clear your bounty in Winterhold :) It might be glitching and the game thinks you have a bounty, so:
player.setcrimegold 0 0002816F

those are zeroes, btw :D

Thanks mate. While the console command didn't work (it would let me add to the bounty of 40 and then subsequently subtract from the number added, but would not shift below 40), your idea did show me that I did, indeed, have a bounty. Although, God only knows why.

So once again, thanks, and enjoy the new year.

If you killed anyone or stole anything in the hold for Winterhold and were seen, there'll be a bounty.
for everyone attacking you, you must've killed a guard or two. Might have happened in a cross fire during a previous fight.

As for clearing the bounty, when you get attacked, sheath your weapon. If it's sheathed, unsheath and then sheath it. then you should be able to talk to a guard and pay off the bounty or do th jail time.

I think the console command is reversed... should be "2816F 0" I think.
