Some really great responses here. Its great to read so many people doing different things and also having done some of the same on your own.

I completed the mehrunes dagon quest and after that i completed a bugged quest talking to greta. I didnt want to start if because i didnt want the uncompleted mission in my journal but i decided the 4 talos necklaces were getting annoying.

Tomorrow i think i am going to kill the emperor.

In escorting the Blade's loremaster, Esbern, to Riverwood, we stumbled upon a bandit hideout full of hired swords and a thick stench. We fought our way through discovering a dogfighting ring and a load of gold. The most surprising turn of events was having to learn the old loremaster could fight.

1: I found grimsever, sent Lydia packing, outfitted the Lioness with new ebony armor and Ebony war hammer (need to change the one i gave her, no need to paralyze the target, that's a time waster) and tried her out in combat.
2: I moved the wife from Whiterun to Solitude and decided we needed a holiday house in Riften, so I handed a Lizard some healing potion and carried on from there.
3: I .... I.... nope, that was it I guess... oh no, I also reached "quiet casting" so no I can go stealth, slice neck and live to tell.... In other words, I'm a ghost.

Ill agree, that dungeon is a royal bitch!!! my followers just kept getting owned and id get swamped and have to run back through traps setting them off on my pursuers just to survive. Remember that one trap where you can flip the leaver and the helicopter blade type thing pops put of the ground? I must have run back to that and set it off 4 times with a horde of falmer following me. I was very lucky when i set off the guardian centurion but it instead turned on the 5 or so falmer attacking me... i just stood back and let them go at it... and mopped up the dregs. However, I also thoroughly enjoyed that dungeon because as you said, it was the first time id really been 'challenged' in the game before then. Mercer was also quite a hassle. Ended up unrelenting forcing him off the top of the idol and he landed on his head down the bottom and he must have broke his neck. Until then he was kicking my ass going all predator on me.

Yep.. that one trap with the helicopter blades in the early part of the dungeon killed me twice - first time the blade caught me by surprise and a falmer shadowmaster finished me off, second time I was low on health from a fight and carelessly walked right into it. And then the flame trap in the next corridor barbequed me.

Mercer was a challenge even though I paralyzed him with a poisoned warhammer. The momentum of my swing hurled me off the statue into the pool below, and since Mercer had turned invisible I couldn't find where he was laying when I climbed back up. Next thing I know he has shaken off the paralysis, jumped up from behind me and stabbed me in the back. Ah, but finally finishing him off was all the more satisfying because of the trouble he put me through!

I reached level 55 and also raised my lockpicking to level 100.

Defeated mercer because after reading that the dungeon was challenging i had to test it out.

Killed a bunch of dragons both glitched and not glitched. Darn things dont want to give up there souls.

Snuck up on a blood dragon and killed it with one daedric arrow.

Mercer + legendary bow w/ fire + 2 ebony arrows + 15 second paralysis and 35 poison damage every second = mercer dead

Hit over 600 armor rating! :)

Just sort of a little mini-quest for me. Now I begin the arduous task of collecting enough materials to craft new armor with better enchants on them. So, that's goal #2 for me. Dragon hunting and keeping as many Grand Soul gems on me as possible. I want fully Grand-soul-gemmed up gear. My current gear was before I really understood the Enchantment process. And before I really had enough money to throw around on such things. The Enchants are real basic (+Smithing and some other random enchants that I happend to have at the time) and not very powerful. Now that I understand how Enchanting works (only once, can't be upgraded like armor rating) I'm ready to make some real good stuff.

Goal #1 is to finish out the Thieves Guild storyline and then move on with the main quest for a while.

I got my fortune read. I was informed that some random dead guy I never met or even heard of had "bequeathed" all of his worldly possessions to me. I went and found those possessions, and then sold the old versions. No need for 3 sets of that stuff.

Kind of strange how that gear was just given to you...

I was happy to recieve it but moved on to dragonscale shortly after. I still carry the gloves around for when im up close...

Bad to the Dragonbone.
Just had an epic encounter ...

I had some business to take care of in Riften. As I was leaving, I passed 3 Stormcloaks. They were the type that will attack you if you get too close for too long. Well, I couldn't resist. So I got right in their faces and just stood there til I got attacked. My new trusty follower Kharjo helped me take care of them.

As things were winding down, apparently the Riften guards didn't care for the merciless slaughter of some of their brethren and attacked me as well. There were probably at least 3 or 4 of them. So as I'm dealing with this (downing healing potions and dodging arrows like mad) a TROLL jumps out and rushes me! So I haul ass (dodging arrows) and just as I kill it, two Necromancers show up! I'm still trying to deal with the guards but Kharjo gets his act together and takes one out. I finally have time to kill off the necromancers and the last guard.

I'm now the proud owner of a 2000 gold bounty in the Rift. :/

Sooo worth it.

However, in a cruel twist of fate, I happened upon a caged wolf nearby. I let it loose and was promptly attacked by two trappers. This might not have been a problem but a Bounty Collector shows up right behind them. After the scuffle, the trappers, the Bounty Collector and Kharjo are dead. And I JUST got him outfitted the way I like ...

I redid the pursuit quest because i walked out of the cellar before her, went back to calcemo's tower, retraced the script, took it back to winterhold (trying to script without spoilers), let her leave first (needs to be done to avoid a glitch). After that i continued with the college quests, can't be assed explaining them all but it's all good.

I believe i release that same wolf just this week. But the trappers were dead before the wolf got to them ;) I was lucky and opened the gate from just the right angle that i could see the trappers come up over the hill and be right in my crosshairs. Thanks for recharging my weapon ;)

I logged on to my level 68 high elf mage, and just on a whim I decided to go on the rampage and murdered everyone in Whiterun, Riverwood, Rorikstead, Windhelm, and Solitude..at which point I got bored and reloaded my save before all that happened.

I find it therapeutic to occasionally take out my anger on guards who make snippy remarks like "keep your hands to yourself sneak-thief"

Is there any way to do a quest on foot without picking up another 10 quests on the way to your aforementioned quest lol
