I disagree with the glowing eyes and the fugly sunken cheeks looks of vampires when not in vamp lord form, as part of the whole idea behind vampires is their ability to 'mask' their true nature to others.
It totally breaks all immersion for me to walk around a town full of people while it is obvious I am a vampire. I guess maybe the thought is that what I see is my true vampire self and what they see is something different, but it just feels out of place to have NPCs chat with me as though I'm a normal person while my eyes are glowing and I look like a corpse.
And don't even get me started on all the bugs with vampires like having your character end up with dirt all over their face when loading a save, yet knowing they didn't have the dirty look when you saved and existed the game.
Or the bug where human female races end up with dark eyes instead of the glowing eyes.
Or the whole vampire necromage buffing almost every ability in the game.
Good thing there are other people who dislike it as well, and some have made mods that let me tone down or neutralize the vanilla / Dawngaurd vampire look, while also fixing some of the bugs.
I just think vampires were a bit of an afterthought in the game, and even being the focal point of one of the DLCs, were sadly only partially developed.
