4. FFIX (that's right, I went there)
havent heard of the first two, im relatively new to the rpgs, only 5ish years in, got hooked on morrowind and played fallout3 after that, played new vegas and skyrim. love how you could go straight to red mountain and skour that mountain and even fight dagoth urr should that be what you wnted to do.1. KOTOR, because it's KOTOR
2. Demon's Souls, I loved how it always challenges you no matter how experienced you are. (Don't even bring up Dark souls, dark souls was bad.)
3. Morrowind, I love all the freedom, except for those damn elves.
4. Fallout New Vegas (Haters gon' hate)
5. Skyrim
Good ones! I too played the classic Ultimas, although they were just slightly before my time (not by much). Neverwinter was also good, but could never quite get in to them. Wish I played the pre-Fallout 3 Fallouts, but I think going back at this time might not offer me the experience they would have given pre-FO3. Mass Effect... should be right up my alley, but I couldn't get in to it either...There are some really great titles on this list. I think the (showing my age here) Ultima series was entralling (before that last one was released and it was beautiful, but so so so buggy). The Neverwinter series was excellent. I liked Fallout 2 much more than 3. And there's also Mass Effect.
Agreed, we're surrounded by tech, a good ole bow and sword is satisfying to meMy husband had me try Mass Effect. That's a serious departure of genre for me but I'm glad I tried it out. I do not think I enjoyed it nearly as much as I do the medieval-esque ones but that is my own personal taste rather than there being anything wrong with the game itself. The same goes for Fallout II. The worlds were still extremely rich with great stories and didn't bog me down with a bunch of techno-babble. I work with technology every day and I'm married to a software engineer. I want to escape the babble for a bit, typically
