Well, I guess it sucks balls for someone who expected something closer to the original. Otherwise it might be an okay or even a good game.

I might have to hunt down these Witcher games, they seem to be my type of RPG. As for a list, I really don't have a top five, but FF 7 is my favorite of all time, followed by the Elder Scrolls series (Morrowind and Skyrim would be tied for now, followed by Oblivion). I've played a few others, but I'll have to say they are all tied for third I guess.

Forgot to mention Fallout series, that was always fun. Never played 3 though, my friend claims it to be the best.

1. Skyrim (been a while since I've been this hooked)
2. Dragon Age: Origins
3. KoTOR
4. FFIX (that's right, I went there)
5. Super Mario RPG (Went there too.)

1.) KOTOR
2.) Skyrim
3.) Fallout 3
4.) Fallout: New Vegas
5.) Dragon Age: Origins

1. KOTOR, because it's KOTOR
2. Demon's Souls, I loved how it always challenges you no matter how experienced you are. (Don't even bring up Dark souls, dark souls was bad.)
3. Morrowind, I love all the freedom, except for those damn elves.
4. Fallout New Vegas (Haters gon' hate)
5. Skyrim

havent heard of the first two, im relatively new to the rpgs, only 5ish years in, got hooked on morrowind and played fallout3 after that, played new vegas and skyrim. love how you could go straight to red mountain and skour that mountain and even fight dagoth urr should that be what you wnted to do.
i like in new vegas how many different paths you could choose to end the game, i chose the wild card and to destroy the divide cuz i'm all for the free market!!! lol, skrew communism=socialism=social equality=we all have the same thing, no more, no less.
skyrim... need i say more?????

There are some really great titles on this list. I think the (showing my age here) Ultima series was entralling (before that last one was released and it was beautiful, but so so so buggy). The Neverwinter series was excellent. I liked Fallout 2 much more than 3. And there's also Mass Effect.

Good ones! I too played the classic Ultimas, although they were just slightly before my time (not by much). Neverwinter was also good, but could never quite get in to them. Wish I played the pre-Fallout 3 Fallouts, but I think going back at this time might not offer me the experience they would have given pre-FO3. Mass Effect... should be right up my alley, but I couldn't get in to it either...

My husband had me try Mass Effect. That's a serious departure of genre for me but I'm glad I tried it out. I do not think I enjoyed it nearly as much as I do the medieval-esque ones but that is my own personal taste rather than there being anything wrong with the game itself. The same goes for Fallout II. The worlds were still extremely rich with great stories and didn't bog me down with a bunch of techno-babble. I work with technology every day and I'm married to a software engineer. I want to escape the babble for a bit, typically ;)

Agreed, we're surrounded by tech, a good ole bow and sword is satisfying to me

A) Skyrim
B) Operation Darkness
C) Final fantasy 3 (or 6) Depending on which version/system you are speaking of. The one with Kefka.
D) Vandal Hearts
E) Suikoden

By far two of the greatest RPG's on PSX, Vandal Heart's and Suikoden. (IMO) I loved FF7 & 8, don't get me wrong. There's just something nostalgic about D & E above that really stuck with me.

5: Warhammer Online

I didn't mention Skyrim because I'm still playing it and I don't know how I'll look back on it in a few years. I suspect it will easily make a top 5 list I will theoretically make at a later date though. I was introduced to RPG's through the FF series and I still enjoy the memories I have of them. Warhammer Online surprised me with how fun it was, I'd never enjoyed an MMO before that. The PvP, or RvR as it was referred to is absolutely top notch in Warhammer. Wonderful class system as well, there are very clear strengths and weaknesses and it was very well balanced. I lost interest after a few months of playing because my friend stopped playing as well, but it was a fantastic game while it lasted.
