Right so I’m level 42 I have 100 heavy armour and 100 2 handed weapons. I only ever use my war hammer and dragon plate armour, I’m not strong enough to kill people with 1handed swords now as I have no skill points in 1h to make me do more damage. How can I progress?! This levelling process seems kind of bugged to me… I can’t progress using the things I want to use.. so now im running round doing things in an RPG with what I want to use but essentially I’m not getting any better?! Anyone else having this problem?

Leveling definitely gets more time consuming as you get higher. I actually prefer it though, a jack of all trades build would bore me to tears and I would have no incentive to replay the game as a different character.

I understand that a lot of people feel differently, so I'm sorry if my advice seems quaint, but since you leveled one character to 100 in 2 handed weapons, after I finished the main quest I'd make a new character than specialized in one handed weapons if that's what I wanted to use.

I know there a lot of forum members here that have leveled almost every useful skill to 100, so I'll let them give you tips on how to level fast, you can even find tips on how to power level specific skills just by google searching, but there's always an option for new diverse characters.

RPG to me is having a unique character with unique strengths and weaknesses.

Well just get beefy, take healing in your left/right hand, than take your 1h weapon in other hand. Hit your enemy and when you are being hit just heal yourself right up. Don't try to take many enemies at the same time, that will just hold you down too much. Good luck!

Don't forget you can buy skill levels from trainers when you actually make level. And you can make levels by doing things other than combat, like smithing or alchemy which you have more control over. So you can use blacksmithing to get the next level, then dump money on a trainer to raise your 1 handed 5 times.
