Sora, Donald, and Goofy are looking a lot crisper in this new trailer for Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix that Square Enix released at this week's Jump Festa in Tokyo.
Set for release on the PS3 in 2014, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix not only lets you revisit your favorite characters and Disney worlds in high definition, there's a lot of added content for those that have only played the vanilla version of Kingdom Hearts II.
Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix will include both Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix and Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep Final Mix, both available for the first time outside of Japan, which pack new content and gameplay into the experience. The collection will also include HD cinematics that fill in the events of the Nintendo DS game Kingdom Hearts Re: coded.
So Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix will bring us Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep Final Mix and cinematics telling the story of Kingdom Hearts Re: coded. And Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix including Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, Re: Chain of Memories, and cinematics telling the story of Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. So what about Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance?
Kingdom Hearts Series Director Tetsuya Nomura has thought of that, too, and in an interview with Weekly Famitsu picked up by
Kotaku, he said he would like to find a way to get Dream Drop Distance re-released before Kingdom Hearts III launches.
"The HD remastered games are a summary leading up to
KH III. It'd be sad for one chapter not to be in HD in remaking the series, plus
KH3D is a necessary piece for telling the story of
KH III, so I've been telling myself that we need to start considering it," Nomura said.
