PC How to use TELEKINESIS?

(Using XBox controller on laptop, so didn't know whether to post under PC or XBox tag ...)

Anyways, I'm a little confused on the controls for using Telekinesis and I know there's gonna be a dungeon coming up soon where it looks like the only way to get a few gems off a really high platform is to use the telekinesis spell ...

You point the cursor on the object and grab it? Dosent it pull it back. Towards you? Like half life?

The object should float in the air and the you should be able to push it around.
