    Hands of the Sorrowful Knight

    REDUX

Nirn has always been in need of a hero, in one form or another. The Eternal champion, the Nerevarine, the Hero of Kvatch, the Last Dragonborn; there has always been a hero who appeared at the darkest hour, or sometimes before, and saved the people of Tamriel from devastation and utter ruin.

This was the first time in many years the world found itself not in need of such a hero. Ten years had passed since the end of the Civil War of Skyrim, which had ended with a truce between the Stormcloaks and Empire, as they bound together along with the Argonians of Black Marsh, and the then independent province of Hammerfell, to fight the true enemy they all faced. With fierce determination, and a newfound sense of purpose and might, the unified powers of these provinces completely drove back the Dominion out of Cyrodiilic lands, back into their own home turf. Unable to withstand the onslaught brought upon them by their allied enemies, despite great prowess of their own, the Dominion conceded, and disbanded shortly after, to the Empire’s relief. With the second Great War over, and their would be oppressors vanquished, the empire was able to reclaim the trust of the provinces who believed they had failed, and convinced them to realign themselves with the empire. Ulfric Stormcloak and Elisif the Fair arranged a political marriage, one that brought a staunch defender of the nordic heritage to the title of High King, while still keeping the Nordic province under Empiric rule, with enough dealings to satisfy both parties. Not the least of which was the reinstatement of Talos as the Ninth Divine, and his shrines and temple placements returned to their former glory.

Thus a new age begins; the Fifth Era. A true age of peace and prosperity. One that the people of Tamriel had previously believed to only be a fairy tale.

But something is stirring beneath this peaceful facade. Something far more dangerous than the wars that came before. Far more destructive than the attempted coup of Mehrunes Dagon, or even the return of Alduin. These dark, ageless forces have begun to manifest themselves in the City of Rorikstead, right smack dab in the relative middle of Skyrim.

At first, it seemed like simple arguments, pettiness, and foolishness. But the people were becoming bitter, angry, and unruly. Riots broke out, people indiscriminately destroying the many businesses, old and new, that littered the walled city.

That was only the beginning, however.

Now, the cities walls are barricaded up higher than even a giant could peek over. The Whiterun guard are now surrounding the area of the city, now ordered to kill anything that attempts to leave those walls, all while keeping anyone else who arrived outside of it. The reasons behind this have not left Whiterun proper, as anyone who would have the potential of leaving were now trapped within the cities walls, and the guards had no business leaving the immediate area. Those who arrive to the cities closed walls are incarcerated for their own safety, aside from those who prove they are willing and able to continue the city’s quarantine.

The guard’s numbers, as well as the numbers of those willing to help however, are beginning to thin, and they are in desperate need of a real hero. But there are none to speak of. The Dragonborn has vanished. Any who had aided her in her time in Skyrim have done the same. A small team of heroes have entered the city, but it has been a week since they entered, with no word from them as to whether they are even still alive. The guards believe them to be dead, and are not willing to check to be sure. However, two of the team's members remain outside the gates, helping the guards keep control of the walls. But their strength and will are wearing thin.

Thankfully, there is a unknown force pulling seemingly random strangers toward Rorikstead, in a last ditch hope that one, or even all of them could somehow end this terrible plague that has Rorikstead in its deadly grasp.

But would these strangers be enough?

Timeline of the Events of SKYRIM to the current point in our timeline.

4E 201 - Alduin attacks Helgen, bringing about the return of the dragons. The Dragonborn is discovered.

4E 202, Evening Star- Right about the end of the year, Alduin is slain by the Dragonborn, with the help of the Tongues, bringing about the end of the dragon threat, as the amount of dragons is now finite.

4E 203, Morning Star to Rain's Hand -The Dragonborn begins her crusade against the dragons with her blades, eradicating all Dragons who remained after Alduin's defeat. Aside from one particular dragon, who she is fond of. This brings the Dominion back to the forefront of the Empire's mind, and due to the Dragonborn, a call to action was made in the vein of uniting to defeat the Empire's gravest threat. A treaty between the Stormcloaks and the Empire is signed, rumors of a renewed war effort begin to spread. Envoys from Black Marsh and Hammerfell are seen in the Emperor's company. Rumors begin to spread like wild fire.

4E 203, Sun's Dusk to 4E 207, Last Seed - The Second Great war takes place. The combined might of the Empire and it's new allies push The Dominion out of Cyrodiil, with fierce resistance. However, due to the Argonians cunning in battle, The Empires pride, and the Reguard's tenacity, the Dominion is completely pushed back into their own lands, and at the threat of pushing further over their borders, the Dominion surrenders. The Empire rejoices in it's victory against the elves, declaring that the victory was due to Talos, who had never given up on the Empire he had built with his own hands. This opened up further talks between Skyrim to possibly rejoin the Empire.

4E 207, Frost Fall to 4E 208, Morning Star - The Nords officially declare an end to hostility between them and the Empire, with the promise of Talos's return to Divinity. Reparations are made to both parties. Ulfric Stormcloak and Elisif the Fair are wed politically to close the rift in Skyrim's heart. The wound heals slowly, but the act helped immensely. The Redguards and the Argonian's joined back shortly after, with promises and reparations made to them as well.

4E 208 - The end of the Fourth Era, as declared by Titus Mede II. The Fifth Era would be an era of peace and prosperity, one that would be felt by all who remained under the Empires banner.

5E 1 to 5E 5 - The peace that is promised is delivered, and a golden age has begun. Provinces rebuild from the wars that had plagued them in the previous era, and advances begin to be made as this peace seems to inspire many to build and create, instead of destruction and ruin.

5E 5, Frost Fall - The Current location in the Timeline that we are located.

    RULES AND GUIDELINES:

The rp is 18+ so expect violence, swearing, sex, and more skooma than you can shake a stick at. This is to allow a deeper connection between characters, as well as be able to truly flesh out their feelings of duress or anger. If things like this offend you, you have been aptly warned, and I take no responsibility on what your sensitive eyes see.

No god modding or scripting other people's characters to do your bidding. You can be Tamriel's greatest illusion master, but you do not have any power over the characters controlled by other writers. You are also unable to kill an entire room of roided orc berserkers with your pinkie. You're no Talos, don't pretend. :p

Conflict between characters is fine, and possibly encouraged, depending on the situation. However, what happens in the IC, STAYS in the IC. No butting heads amongst writers. If there is a problem, contact me, and I will do my damnedest to clear everything up so we can move along.

This is possibly nitpicky, but please provide quality posts. A good paragraph or two for each one you make at least. Sentence long posts won't fly. Make a conscious effort in writing your post. However, with the cast we have, I severely doubt this will be an issue.

Life can get in the way of our fun here on the forums, and if it does, please, PLEASE, contact me, and we will come up with a solution as to what to do with your character until you return. I do not want to, but I reserve my right to kill off or make your character disappear if someone doesn't respond to multiple attempts of contact.

I dig this plotline, good good stuff!

    Name: Rohael

    Race: Redguard

    Age: 24

    Gender: Male

Class: Crusader (heavy armor, blunt weaponry, Restoration)

    Height: 6'0"

    Weight (without armor): 205 lbs

Appearance: What Rohael lacks in height against a lot of the foes he faces on the battlefield, he makes up for in build. The man is in incredible shape, possessing toned muscles and broad shoulders; his dreadlocked hair is typically tied back out of his clean-shaven face, with a gap in between his front teeth that can make for a warm smile to friends and potential lovers, or mislead enemies into underestimating Rohael's combat abilities.

Typical Clothes: Rohael enjoys living large, and that's evident through his outfit of choice around towns; a garment of fine green and white linen, usually with a few necklaces dangling in front of it around Rohael's neck, a pair of pants out of fine black fabric with a hilt at the side for Rohael's mace, and leather boots of a dark brown.

Battle Armor: Intimidation is one of Rohael's favorite tactics in the heat of battle, and he achieves this through wearing a set of ebony armor, minus the helmet. Having won the set of armor after a formerly-renowned warrior stumbled into a bar Rohael had been at, drunkenly betting it, the Redguard has put it to exemplary use in situations where his mace is needed, and he continues to do so.

Personality: Thought of by most as "a Nord trapped in a Redguard's body", Rohael has quite the love for the heat of battle. He is a very confident man, and while he does have a good disposition most of the time, he will be more than happy to demonstrate of his prowess in any area, whether it be in a simple game of cards or a raid on a full-fledged castle (most likely followed with some variation of "I'm the best" to himself, as well). Rohael also fancies himself quite the ladies' man, and his efforts to appeal to a woman he may be interested in tends to cloud his judgement, and can land him in sticky situations, just as his desire to prove his ability in certain aforementioned areas can.

Background: Upon Hammerfell's secession from the Empire, as well as the chaos within the province that ensued after with the Aldmeri Dominion and the Civil War, Rohael's family relocated to Skyrim, where he would be born. His father, a former Imperial soldier, taught his son everything he knew about fighting, expressing much desire for him to be a soldier, or at least some sort of adventurer, because he saw greatness in him.

Indeed, that's what Rohael became, as he was hired by the Empire to help carry out certain operations throughout Skyrim, as well as joining on the occasional bandit fort raid he'd hear about in a bar every now and then. Over time, Rohael became a well-known warrior with his trusty mace, and after learning the art of Restoration thanks to being introduced to it by a magic-using colleague, he had truly embraced the "Crusader" mentality. Now, he considers himself a traveling warrior and adventurer, stopping in towns every now and then to "see if an honorable warrior can find an honorable love".

Skills: A specialist in blunt weaponry and heavy armor, mainly, Rohael is most certainly the warrior type, the first one to charge in with his mace and the last one to be standing, armor covered in the dents of his would-be killers' swords. Rohael is also heavily experienced in the school of Restoration, able to heal himself and his allies in the heat of battle; and thanks to his confidence, the man has a tongue of silver, granting him ability to reason and bargain his way out of a lot of predicaments.

Thank you for your interest, Viarco, though I must warn you that I've already casted this rp, and a few of them are doubling up, meaning this group could end up becoming quite large, possibly too large to work properly. However, I'm still waiting on a few to respond, so I may come back to you if you still are interested at that time, should some of them decline or change their minds.

Would you mind waiting for a bit until we get a more proper headcount?

Looking forward to getting back into this story, was always one of my favourites back in the day. Will possibly work on a CC tonight, I'm working late tomorrow so may not have a chance to tomorrow night.

And welcome to the forums @Viarco Strong-Head , good to meet you!

No worries, Viarco, the fault is completely mine. I failed to make it clear in the original post, so you had no way of knowing.

And yes, A hearty welcome to the forums from me as well! Always glad to have fresh meat- I mean, fresh faces in the roleplaying section. :D

    Name: Ella Fisher

    Age: 22

    Gender: Female

    Race: Nord

Class: Warmage (mostly magic, carries a shortsword just in case)

    Height: 5'3"

    Weight: 110lbs

Appearance: Ella is small and skinny, quite diminutive on a battlefield. However, she is more powerful than she looks, and can pack a punch. She has short(ish) blonde-brown hair, and dark blue eyes set in pale white skin.
    s9abY7g.jpg

Clothing: Her own black leather outfit, enchanted to withstand a decent amount of direct blows. Once this enchantment is drained, however, she has very little protection. (like the picture but in all black)
    69007-1-1440349619.jpg

Personality: Ella is usually very quiet, and shy around people she doesn't know. She is less shy when she is around friends, but she never really gets any louder. In battle, she will take on a terrifying silence, and a blank facial expression, as she rips her enemies to shreds with her mind. She will often use her mind to check up on people during a fight, mostly for her own urge to keep people safe, but also to relay messages (think similar to the Inheritance cycle's way), and so can be considered a great help in large-scale battles. Unless those battles involve draugr, in which case Ella will be reduced to a quivering wreck.

Background: Ella's parents were a lower middle class family living in Dawnstar as fishermen, and her father was the stereotypical Nord; big, bruising, loved a fight. When Ella's inherent magical ability made itself known to her at the age of only five, her parents effectively disowned her, and sent her off to the College of Winterhold.

Ella spent sixteen years studying at the College, and became well acquainted with most schools of magic. She specialised in destruction, alteration and conjuration, though she was not exactly inept at restoration or illusion either.

One day, she and four friends decided to try and sneak into an ancient Nord ruin nearby, as an adventure. Their naivety got the better of them, and so did the draugr. Ella was the only one to make it out alive, severely scarred - both outside and in.

Since then, she has barely spoken. She received permission from the Archmage to spend some time away from her studies, to learn more about the outside world. And so she set off, aged twenty-one, into the world alone. She has been roaming Skyrim and its borders ever since, trying to correct her worst mistake.

An excellent entrant, Epic. Interested to see how she'll handle the upcoming challenges.

What color would you prefer for her dialogue, my good man?

Of course it is. You're the first to post the cc, so you get priority. :p

I'll put that color on the name of your character in the cast list.

    *Waits impatiently for more cc's*

White it is sir! What's the character's name? I'll go ahead and fix it to the list if you want.

I'm trying not to name him Bryce because I already have a character named Bryce but it's the only name I want to use.

So probably Bryce. Last name will probably be stolen from another one of my characters too.

EDIT: fluff it, I'm going all out Bryce. His name will be Bryce Montarello.

I'd say Helgen was destroyed eleven to twelve years by the time we will be starting this. Helgen was rebuilt three years ago, and is currently growing due to its popularity as where the Harbinger of the End Times first made his presence known.

The dragon threat ended right before the truce was declared between Skyrim and the Empire. So the dragon threat took a year to two years to subdue, including the Dragonborn leading crusades against the dragons that remained until they were believed to be eradicated. No Dragon has appeared since the beginning of the Second Great War.

That being said, I should make an actual timeline in the original post to plot these points down more concretely.

I am also interested should anything open up! Just putting name down in case you need another in the future :) I'm new here as well, getting the lay of the land.
