I understand why they didn't add it in, seeing as how big an event it's going to be but I really would have liked some closure with the Thalmor, allying with either the Legion or Stormcloaks from the completed Civil War questline to finally finish them off. If anything Bethesda will either have the next great war in between games or a main part of Elder Scrolls 6, oh well.

Mm...The Elder Scrolls VI...can't wait for that day :D Hopefully with the introduction of new consoles in this generation Bethesda will really be fit to push the boundaries of the Elder Scrolls and release the best game yet. With all of our wonderful ideas here included of course ;)

I got a DLC idea that isn't story based but just a feature I've always wanted in Skyrim. That feature would be........ BOATS!!! The ability to captain a boat! If not that, at least let me hijack one of the many canoes I always seem to run into. I'd row the hell out of it!

    BOATS!!!

Dawnguard, while a fun DLC with an interesting story of its own, never sat well with me.

Dawnguard doesn't quite have a legitimate thematic place in Skyrim's story. Perhaps if they tied it into the main quest-line a bit better. For example: all of the necromantic magics Alduin was tossing around to resurrect dragon-kind had the unforeseen side effect of empowering the local Vampire clans.

Without a clear thematic path the concept comes off with a flavor-of-the-month feel. "What's hot right now? Vampires? Great. Let's do that!". This isn't to say I didn't enjoy Dawnguard, or that I don't enjoy vampires. I do. I just wish they had dome the legwork to make it fit more seamlessly.

I would have preferred to see a DLC that took place after the main quest-line. It would have dealt primarily with the remaining dragons. The noble dragon Paarthurnax (or the opportunist Odahviing if the player has slain Paarthurnax) seeks to guide the dragons towards peace with the mortal races and is met with resistance. The remaining dragons have split into two groups. A dragon civil-war threatens to rage across the skies of Tamriel as dragon locks jaw with dragon over the fate of of the dovah.

With power feared and respected by both sides, it falls now upon the Dovahkiin: Slayer of Alduin, to act as arbitrator. Savior or destroyer of Dragonkind. Unite the dragons under one banner or hunt them to extinction.

Psijic Order Storyline as a continuation of the College. Perhaps getting to visit Artaeum (like Solstheim). Additional powerful spells (stop time, etc). Perhaps more research into the Eye of Magnus (because, what the heck was that thing anyway?).

Thalmor storyline (join or fight Thalmor). More of a behind the scenes (assassination/manipulation of events) story and less of a dungeon delver. Need to stop those nasty Talos worshippers.

I almost want a Dwemer story - but I think part of the appeal is the mystery. I don't really want that mystery ruined so I don't want it all explained.

Agreed with the Thalmor storyline, join or fight the Thalmor :)
Maybe add some Altmer followers? It's a very good idea

But Dawnguard doesn't have anything to do with the entire concept of Dragons at all. It just doesn't make a whole lot of sense to be there. It was obviously thrown in because all ES games MUST have vampires. While it has always been semi-enjoyable to me, I could have lived with out it. Pretty much the only thing I like about it is the ability to fletch. That's about it. I like that there is hot new leather armor for the female characters, but, if you look at the rest of the armor in the game it doesn't fit in at all. It also doesn't really seem to fit lorewise with the rest of the game. As if dragon attacks weren't enough, now half the NPCs you need are getting killed off by dragons too! It was bad enough when all my smiths kept getting killed by dragons, now I have to worry about making sure I never go anywhere near town or, alternatively, leave my house between the hours of 10pm and 5am. It's just plain silly.

I do agree that the Bard College was kind of meh though. What was the point. Here, fetch this. Here, fetch that. Help me write a lame poem. Okay, now you're a bard. We won't teach you anything and you can't play an instrument, sing or write anything, but, you're a bard nonetheless. Now go away. We don't have any more use for you. :)

I agree on the Dwemer thing. Despite Arniel's quest ALWAYS glitching on me, I thought we'd actually find out what happened to the Dwemer at the end of it. But NOOOOOOO! Poof. Arneil's gone and nobody seems to care about that either. So... where'd he go? Did he go to the same place as the Dwemer? Can I go there too? Can I come back? Why are dwemer beds made out of stone? Aren't they awfully uncomfortable? So many questions.

That's why they should have come up with DLC that expands on the bard's college. The bards are already an established part of skyrim's culture (unlike the Volkihar and Dawnguard factions), but the college has been treated as a tourist attraction rather than a faction. They could have given us the ability to learn how to use the many instruments we find scattered around Skyrim and possibly gain magical attributes from performing certain songs, like maybe bonuses to certain skills (they could be temporary bonuses like the resting bonuses and dragon slayers blessing) and maybe songs that benefit followers so that they get a boost to their attacks or health. Songs that drive away dead spirits, or wake up ghosts to fight for you. There could have been songs that you create (you don't actually get to compose them, that would be too complicated) they'd be pre-programmed songs, but maybe you could choose the title, like dedicating a requiem to one of your dead friends or a serenade to your spouse.

    1. Another dlc based on a daedric lord, perhaps a different lord though, one that has some relevance to skyrim, perhaps peryite who was depicted as a dragon i dont know what hee quest would be about though. Or an adventure into the void (what ever it is) involving the dark bortherhood, sithis and the night mother, even meeting many of the npcs and souls you sent to the void from oblivion. Just anything that sends you to another realm like the shivering isles

2.Something that massively expands onto the main questline (not like dragonborn dlc) that gives you more of an opportunity of, A) Destroying the rest of the dragons in skyrim (because the continuously respawn right?) and completely rebuild the blades to a big number, featuring new npcs rather than recruiting, because 3 members that acutally do something, is not enough and B) Either forming an alliance with the dragons to befriend the races of tamriel and with the blades, still forming the alliance and disbanding the blades ( because im sure delphine would oppose the alliance, you had no say in whether parthurnaax deserved to live ).

    3. The dlc I really wanted, with the war over, whichever side you had chosen, you could either join the aldermeri dominion or destroy them, but only the embassy within skyrim, either General tullius was finally sick of them, you would destroy the dominion and plant strong evidence of the stormcloaks doing it before the war was over, or ulfric would personally travel with you and combine the voice to end the thalmor existence in skyrim. also being able to take out those camps from either side that you find around skyrim, plus if on ulfrics side being able to cross the border, as a small outer map, into cyrodiil and taking out some of the commanding forts which would stop the word reaching Cyrodiils capital, for a while, of sending recruits to skyrim.

That was another thing that pissed me off about Dawnguard - they had loads of recruits, including more warriors than the Companions had, an alchemist, blacksmith who tames trolls, the moth priest and a crossbow expert, plus a pack of dogs. The Blades are our response to the original story about fighting dragons, and they just have two leaders and three recruits. Why couldn't we get more recruits for the blades? A weapons expert studying Dwemer devices would surely have been helpful in a war against dragons. A special blacksmith who crafts Blades weapons and armour. An official mage who offers enchanting and spells. Farengar was infatuated with the dragons and even helped Delphine - he could have left Whiterun to work with the Blades. And perhaps a resurrected hero from Sovngarde who gets to permanently join. Seems stupid that they made the Blades such a big part of the main story to begin with, then just leave it at a loose end.

One thing I forgot to add was, everyone wants to see the return of the old races, the game morrowind had a dwarf, lots of people want to see them completely come back, we saw the snow elves back, even if that was only 2, and one you killed, its something, what I would like to see is the akaviri warriors, or atleast with my specific idea bringing one back to re-train and help out the blades, who originally were akaviri, that would bring new weapons, armors, spells etc with him/her. It would certainly fit the role of this dlc idea, due to the dragons coming back, a dragonborn rising and the collapse and return of the blades.

How about we stick to discussing Skyrim instead of making presumptions about each other?

I like to see the possibility to retrieve the deadric artifacts that are not featured in skyrim. This could be extended the thieves guild missions to retrieve the grey fox's mask etc.
