    The Shadow in the Dark.
Ok The Rules 1: No Godmodding. 2: Try to have detailed posts and watch your spelling. 3: No Dragonborn. Finally, enjoy yourselves! ___________________________________________________________________ Each of you receive a letter. The letter only says to meet a certain 'friend' at the Windpeak Inn in DawnStar. One by one, you make your way to the port village, to meet your ally. Not all of you are certain what you will find, but the temptation of adventure is too much to withstand. This meeting of shady assassins, honourable warriors, gentle healers, and frightening figures that shroud their identities in darkness and moonlight may lead to an artifact of awesome power, or a bloody end. ___________________________________________________________________ Salthar strode out of the howling wind of the blizzard and into the warmth of the inn. He'd received a strange letter that told him to meet a 'friend' at the Windpeak inn. The vampire glanced around, looking for someone he noticed, and saw no one. 'maybe I'm early' he thought, walking over to the bar. "What can I get for you sir?" The Innkeeper asked in a friendly tone.
"Wine, please" Salthar answered, placing a few septims on the counter. The man stared at his face, which was just visible under the hood. He probably hadn't seen many High Elves in his time, but he must have known that Salthars' Altmer features were much too pale. "Y-your face i-it's so pale, should I call for a healer?" Stuttered the man. Salthar gave the innkeeper his warmest smile. "Just the wine, please" once his drink was readied, Salthar sat in the corner where he had an excellent view of the room and door. And he wondered who possibly knew how to contact him. If this was some stupid joke, Salthar would have to murder the man responsible. He'd travelled all the way from the Bloodlet Throne, in the middle of a Civil War.

    Drapor

"Drasok Ghett, the Dragon Knight, at your service"
Drapor Walked into the bar and looked around "Is that him" he thought looking at the Altmer in the black robes. "Must be" He ordered some mead and walked over to him and sat down. " Was this you?..." He said placing the letter on the table, waiting for a response

    Ysarth the watcher

High Elf of the Skyrim wilds
The air of night was cool and soon Ysarth had his white mare fully saddled and packed for the journey North.
"A friend" he echoed in thought.
The mare stared at him with calm eyes and gave a reassuring whinny. Ysarth ran his hand down the horse's back before boosting himself into the saddle. He patted her neck gently.
'Asfirith, than'indii" he whispered into the mare's ears.
The horse leaped forward and Ysarth put on his elven helmet.

He had heard of the city, but never visited it; Dawnstar. It was cold and unfamiliar, filled with the usual visages of round-ears who were about their own misguided businesses and fates. He guided his horse to the stables and as usual paid the boy a fair coin to take care of his horse until he returned. As usual the muttering of the boy's gratitude flowed like a breeze against a strong gust of lacking concern by the High Elf.
Although new and strange to him, Ysarth found the location of the tavern, where he was to meet a 'friend', and was soon inside. Like all taverns and inns, the rush of warm air knocked Ysarth's senses amiss and the smell of mead and other drink was rich in the air like birds on a summer morn. A fire warmed the room and the dullness of wooden structuring made it as bleak as a cave entrance.
Ysarth grinned but also frowned slightly at seeing his friend, the other Altmer, Salthar sitting in the corner of the tavern possessing full view of the room. Another curios aspect Ysarth noticed was the Bosmer named Drapor who was beside Salthar.
He started towards the two and presented his letter which he had received a mere day before asking him to visit the tavern of Dawnstar to meet someone, which he now believed was either of these two.
However, his belief was soon knocked aside as he heard Drapor asking if Salthar had sent the letter, and by the look on the Altmer's face, he doubted it.
"Trickery is the work of fools and cowards." Ysarth thought.
He looked at the two and almost boomed 'Such strange paths lead good men together, and such strange meetings are gifts!'
Ysarth grinned and the wild green-yellow of his eyes seemed to cast a faded light of burning green embers throughout his eyes.

There were bodies all over the road. Indicum laughed, and soon his men joined him. Some unlucky noble was on his way to a wedding. "One bodyguard," Indicum announced, his arms spread like a theatre actor. "Yes all we need while carrying such treasure is one bodyguard." More laughter as Indicum's second came up and mockingly asked, clasping his shoulder "We heavily armed men are not bandits." "Oh, Ok good sir." Mock stabbing and Indicum grossly overacted his death. The laughter would put the fullest tavern to shame. "To bad the lady tried to run," Indicum said, taking a small dose of skooma. A chorus of aggreement. "Not all tresure is shiny." And so it went as they looted the bodies.
Indicum thought fondly as he entered Whiterun. That was how jobs should be, he thought in a skooma induced haze. Indicum could have pulled it off with just his second, but with a fourth of the gang it was overkill. Like a legion drill, He thought fondly. As he walked in an oblivious euphoria a courier aproached. Indicum didn't even register the man but found himself holding a letter. Idicum snapped himself out of the haze as he read what the letter was entailing. Dawnstar that is interesting, he thought, Good timing it was time for his merry band to move to a new hold. Indicum smiled as he took anouther skooma hit, for he smelled gold.

Galten met with Isran secretly at a camp outside Dawnstar, informing him of the letter and asking for permission to follow the instructions. Isran told Galten to be careful and gave him a Dwarven crossbow, replacing his old crossbow.
As Galten walked into the inn, he instantly spotted Salthar, standing out in his black robes. Drapor, Ysarth and Indicum was with him too. Why would they be here? He thought walking over to the group. He ordered a flagon of mead at sat down next to them. I take it that one of you sent the letter? Galten asked.

    Drapor

"Drasok Ghett, the Dragon Knight, at your service"
"hello ysarth" Drapor said turning to the standing altmer. "Take a seat" He smiled. "I take it one of you sent the letter" Glaten said. "No" He said looking at galten "He would make such a good snack......" Drapor thought. he started to drool

Indicum wasn't very happy. He walked in to the Windpeak Inn like he owned to place only for him to see across the room to be sitting the Hooded visage of that Altmer. That wood elf was their as well, but he wasn't much comfort with the Lord of Terror right next to him. Indicum nodded to them and sat down. "Five bottle of mead, please." "Here you go." Indicum watched the serving girl walk away. Well I bet she would be more... entertaining company,Indicum laughed but stopped as he saw his companion's faces. Indicum drank fast, and was soon a little past buzzed. That was when that Imperial with that crossbow came in. He had to really focus on what he was saying. One of you sent the letter. Indicum put his dead down and waited for the others to provide exposition. Needless to say his interest overwhelmed his fear now.

    Ysarth the watcher

High Elf of the Skyrim wilds
Ysarth sat down next to the Altmer and Bosmer. Soon after, the unusual drunkard entered followed by the Hunter. Ysarth wondered if they too perhaps had received a letter. The drunkard nodded at the group of elves and Ysarth returned his gesture before settling down with a whetstone and his elven dagger.

Galten sat uncomfortably as Drapor stared at him, drooling. This was a bad idea. he thought. It seems that all of us received a letter, but none of us sent it. Who is our mutual friend? Galten asked the group. Salthar was quiet and Galten made a mental note to be cautious of him and Drapor. Vampires and Dawnguard don't mix well.

Indicum felt an odd sensation and it wasn't the mead. He soon stood and walked to the bard exaggerating his intoxication. "Hey pretty lady how 'bout a lovely tune." She nodded at the gold and soon her beautiful voice rang out. Laughing Indicum started laughing, clapping barely with the tune. He didn't rejoin the others, instead opting to avoid the Altmer that made him want his old blanket that he called "Blanky the Blanket." One shot of skooma, and he sat behind the other imperial using him as a visual shield from the Hooded Elf.

    Drapor

"Drasok Ghett, the Dragon Knight, at your service"
Drapor soon looked away and turned back to the group "Does anyone have any idea who sent the letter?" Drapor ws starting to get serious he didn't walk all the way from riften to be pranked. Drapor looked around the room to see for shady characters, 'Nothing" He thought to himself.

Great, Indicum thought, we were all contacted yet no one has any clue what is happening. Indicum cracked his neck and looked at his companions. How could we be connected, who would want to put us together, and how will I profit. Then the idea came it wasn't good, but profit was possible. "Now then," speaking like a noble at his daughter's wedding reception. All the while avoiding looking at the Hooded Elf. "I think this waiting is fun, but I am here for work." No one moved, Indicum found himself yelling, "Dam you to oblivion! Who is wasting my time!" Bottle where flying and tables where overturned. Soon Indicum awoke from his blackout restrained by rope to a chair being stared at by Galten and the Wanderer. Indicum waited to see if his plan would come to fruitation.

OOC: Yeah. Pretty much. I will form his brilliant plan from how you have your characters react. If ever i post something that is confusing just put how your character would respond.

    OOC: Oh I see!

Galten sat down on a stool and yelled at Indicum By the Divines, what was that all about?! After Indicum lost it, the inn was consumed in chaos. People started flipping tables, and drinks were thrown across the room. Indicum seemed to be the one causing the most trouble, so Galten was forced to stop him. He tackled Indicum to the ground and hit him in the head with the butt of his crossbow. With Indicum knocked out, Galten used the Voice of the Emperor, a skill he rarely practices, and doesn't work on most focused people. Luckily, most of occupants of the inn were drunk, and was easily influenced by the Voice. Galten made the drunkards leave the inn and the only people left were him, Salthar, Drapor, Ysarth and, of course, Indicum, tied to a chair.

Indicum stay motionless as he came to. Dam that Galten's strength was nothing to shake a stick at. Still he isn't the Hooded Elf, that man kept quiet like he was deep in thought sipping at his wine. He could feel his hands shaking, but he fought it down. The Inn was now cleared out. Good, Indicum thought, Now there was a higher chance of shady contracts and coversation to happen. With the bard gone a silence cut through the Inn.

    The Shadow in the Dark.
Salthar motioned to the trembling Innkeep "Out.Now" The man looked more than a little terrified, but he shook his head, bravely. Salthar made as if he was going to get out of his chair, and the man fled, slamming the door behind him. The inn was now silent, except for those few that Salthar remembered from Whiterun.
"This is hardly a coincidence...the group of us summoned here by a mysterious...friend" Salthar sipped his wine, which had miraculously avoided being spilled throughout the brawl. "So, it is obvious that someone unknown to us is attempting to crowd us together...how..interesting" he spoke in a calm, controlled voice, although he was furious that he seemed to have been tricked into believing that he would meet the sender of the letter.

Oh great, thought Indicum. The Living Avatar of Sithis has woken from his nice brooding session. Indicum looked throughout the Inn it was empty and the fire seemed to give no warmth. It appeared everyone was enthralled with the Hooded Elf. Well, Indicum thought, no reason to stay tied. "Umm I'm better now and I have to go to the little rogue's room. If you catch my meaning," Indicum tried to make his voice as soft and innocent as possible. Best to wait to get untied instead of worming his way out.

    Svarnor

    Shadowcloak of Nocturnal
Avi was not in a good mood. He had been drawn away from his brief stay in Whiterun by the arrival of that god-cursed courier with that letter. Not that the letter had anything informative in it, only that it would be in Avi's best interest to be at the Windpeak Inn, in Dawnstar, as soon as possible.
Slipping through the door, the ancient mage scanned the room. This Inn really was a mess, with overturned tables and scattered embers everywhere. Sheer luck alone had prevented the entire building from going up in flames.
There, in the corner, a handful of patrons still remained. Avi frowned slightly as he recognized them. It was the two Altmer, the Bosmer, and the Dawnguard fellow who had been in the Bannered Mare. The Nord Avi didn't recognize immediately, but he after a moment he remembered seeing him the same evening.
What was this group doing here? What with the overturned tables, it could hardly be a coincidence.
Forgoing all caution and striding over to the group's table, Avi asked, in a tone that showed all of his age:
What's the meaning of this, younglings?
Immediately, the mage cursed. He hadn't replenished his life force recently, but he still appeared to be in his mid-thirties, nowhere near old enough to refer to this group as younglings. He would need to be careful how he proceeded from here.

    The Shadow in the Dark.
Salthar rose an eyebrow at the mans' strange choice of words. And yet...he could sense something strange about the man. "By your question, I assume you're not the one who sent the letter?"
Salthar sipped his wine again, and with a quick teleknesis spell, untied the other man. "Judging by the look on your face, I'd say not.Shall we introduce ourselves?" He paused to smiled slightly, "After all, it is only customary" He gestured to the Imperial that he'd just untied. "You.Start.Then you can take care of business" he said, referring to the mans' previous statement.
