OOC: (Hi! I'm not opposed to you joining, though it's also up to Kalib. It's probably best that (and again this is up to Kalib as well) we start an OOC thread so we can discuss how your character comes into the story. Actually, now that I think of it, it's probably best to move the entire story into a new thread now that we've technically left the inn. Also, you can go back and get caught up to where we are thus far if you want; we've only been posting for a week, so it's not too long. What do you think Kalib?)

((I have no problem with it. Scarlet was attacked and robbed by bandits, and now she and Kalib, her new associate, are hunting for the bandits that victimized her.))

Though a man of somewhat large size, Kalib had the ability to move in stealth and shadow. Often having to move on all fours, he was quite used to it, and almost unconsciously shifted his weight from one limb to the next as he'd continue to stalk along the rooftops. The added muffle enchantment upon his boots would silence what little sound he made while moving. His eyes shifting a bit to accommodate him the ability to see almost, if not perfectly in the dark. The number of cones and rods in his eyes would change, answering the call to his lycan heritage.

He kept Scarlet in his sights at all times. His ears twitching at every odd and out of place sound as he waited. She was braver than he had given her credit for. Perhaps even braver than she had given herself credit for. He took careful watch over how she moved, how she was breathing, and a small smile came to him. But he soon shook it off, as he was revealing far too much of his nature to the woman. He knew nothing of how she felt about those of the changing breeds.

(Ok, well Mondays-Fridays I have school. If I stumble across the OOC version, I'll post there.)

(No worries, I usually have school too, but I'm enjoying my last day of spring break right now. Alright, I set it all up. The new thread can be found here: New Beginnings Within there, I put a link to the OOC thread. I'll continue the story there from now on.)

The people came and went. Travellers, the locals. Dalious sat on a soft chair in the upper levels of the tavern. A dark elf woman sang with a majestic voice, she sang the tale of tongues and played her instrument beautifully along with it. He didn't really care much for the words, but the melody and tone of the song he enjoyed.

Puffing a fresh bowl of dragongrass in his pipe, the former arena champion sat and reflected on his life. He was now aged, with a beard and long hair colored white. Many battles he had been through, with many victories and many defeats. All he could remember was the death. Friend or foe, he remembered all of their faces when he slept at night.

He was merely a hunter now, broke and forgotten. All of his friends and family were dead, and the world was different now. There was nothing left to fight for. He basically lived from tavern to tavern. Selling meats when he caught them, otherwise doing oddjobs for people. He was a salesword for the right price. Still, none of it mattered. His tale was over, yet life goes on.

The barmaiden set a pint of ale before him and he returned a smile, with some coins thereafter. It wasn't long before he finished it and was on a second drink. He loved ale, but that's not why he was here. He was working on a bounty set on the man at the end tables. The man was with many friends, all raiders passing through the city. Someone with a lot of coin wanted their leader dead, for business Dalious cared nothing about.

Dalious figured he'd just wait it out. The man he was set to kill, was bound to pass out sooner or later. The aged warrior finished off another pint, then had another. Was looking like a long night, at least the music was good.

Apollo brushed the accumulating snow off of his heavy winter jacket as he stepped inside the Candle Hearth Hall.

The space was scattered with dimly lit candles, and the sounds of the live music playing in the dinning hall travelled through the walls.

He approached an elder man that was sewing various fabrics together that all laid in a box full of fabric scraps besides him. He peered up at the young boy that walked through the door.

"Are you here for a room or the concert next door?"

Apollo dug his hands through his coat pockets, ruffling through various slips of paper, pulling out a letter.

"Hi sir, yeah. I received this invitation in the mail. Do you know where I can find a .. " Apollo looked back down at his letter to make sure he was remembering the name right. "Di..agon Alley?"

The old man adjusted his posture and reached his hand out as an invitation to see the letter. Apollo handed it to him and the old man adjusted his glasses to read the print.

"Where did you find this?" He asked Apollo, perplexed.

"My sister and I just received this in the mail. I'm not sure where she is actually either. Have you seen a girl around my age with black hair, or it might be brown, or red, or even green and blue ... actually, have you seen a girl around? She might have a bow with her, she never let's that thing leave her sight."

The old man laughed so loudly that it could be heard from the dinning hall. "Boy, there's a lot of girls around here with hair and bows, you have to be more specific. What's her name?"

"Luna. Luna Lyrik. I'm her twin brother Apollo."

The old man smirked and started sewing again.

"I knew she was up to something." The old man simply replied. As an afterthought, he quietly chuckled. "When you see her next, send me her regards."

    "What's your name, sir?"

The old man shook his head while still wearing a subtle smirk, almost in disbelief and continued sewing.

"Just tell her that I'm proud of her. Make yourself at home, boy. The weather is too cold and awful tonight, you'll find there's shops nearby tomorrow to help you find your supplies."

Apollo peered out of his sleeping eyes as the clitter-clatter of the waking world woke him up.

Disoriented, he sat up and looked at his surroundings.

"Where am I?" Apollo said out loud to no one in particular. Usually he would be asking his sister that question until he forgot that the two of them had been separated.

A half-finished mug of mead sat on the floor of his bed as bits of the previous night came back to him. Apollo couldn't help but check out the live music at the bar, and one thing led to another..

He thought back to the invitation he gave the old man last night and looked through his pockets, which only contained a foreign map of the surrounding areas.

"But I swear.. I had an invitation?" He looked at the map confused. He knew for sure he had an invitation to a prestigious school, but wherever he was didn't look like school.

Apollo put his boots and jacket on and walked outside of the Inn. He was greeted by a bustling cobblestone street with shops lining the perimeter. He scanned the street briefly but was distracted by the heavy scents of breakfast being made nearby.

"Well, first thing's first.. I'm damned starved." He grumbled to himself while following the scent of freshly cooked plates.
