Recently I wanted to acquire a muffle item, a paralyze item, and a health regenerating item. I just stated making a circut of all the vendors in Skyrim that I knew. I moved from city to city and vendor to vendor just checking their inventory and moving on if they didn't have what I needed. By...
Dagmar - I'm not going to enter a protracted argument about what the definition of "fair" is and how it should be strictly used in a posed question. Its seems others on here understood the spirit of the question and were willing to entertain the discussion.
Nighthiker77 - I'm kinda with you...
@Daelon - I won't go into the details of how to do it because you can find that on youtube, but suffice it to say you can use this loop in the game to produce potion of ridiculous proportion. For instance I have produced a Fortify Enchanting Potion of 25,000%. I haven't used it, but I did...
Dagmar - I respectfully disagree. Take a game like solitare. You can play by the rules which is fair or you can choose to play outside the rules to win, but that is not a fair win. You can't tell somebody you won 12 games of solitare in a row which is more than they ever won in a row if you...
I'd like to know where everyones thoughts are on the fortify restoration loop in the game. Do you think its not fair to use any fortify restoration potions to enhance your alchemy gear or are your thought some where else? Is it fair to use one fortify restoration potion on your alchemy gear to...
I have to disagree with the person who said there is a 22-25 % limit on itmes enchanted for smithing. That may be the case if you make your own items (I'm not sure). You can however purchase smithing items from the various vendors. When your level is high enough you can find items enchanted...
I forgot about the soul gems that Daelon mentioned. Also as far as those go the power of the soul gem only affects the power of an enchantment on items other than weapons. On weapons the type of soul gem only affects the number of charges on that weapon. Also enchantments with no variables...
As Colleen stated you need to find an item with the enchantment you want and disenchant it at an arcane enchanter. Its does not matter what level the item is so you are better off disenchanting lower level items to learn an enchantment. Just because you disenchant an item with a 30 point bonus...
I agree with you guys that a tower is nice because it is a great view from the tower and it gives you access to the roof. Other than looking cool on the house and having a great view it is a pretty worthless addition. I couldn't agree with you more Orca about wanting all three crafting...
I tried putting two of my claws (the ivory and the emerald) into display cases, but when I came home later I would always find them on the floor somewhere. One time I put them in a display case upstairs and found them on the floor of the kitchen downstairs when I came home.
I use all of the above. I prefer to use chest, but I will use a satchel or a barrel if it is close to the relevant area of the house. I use the satchel by my alchemy table to keep my ingredients in and use the barrel on the other side to store my alchemy gear. I use one chest by my smithy shop...
When I play I don't read the books most of the time unless I find one that peeks my interest. I've learned not even to open them for skill books. I just scan over them and you can see the value of the book. If it is a low value book I don't open it. If it is a high value book I open it...
Sorry I failed to mention the general good merchant in Riften that you didn't list either. The Pawned Prawn near the market place. The market place in Riften also has general goods merchants and others.
If you didn't know fences have 4000 in gold so I find it important to unlock as many as...
There are general goods stores in Winterhold, Falkreath, and the Gray Quarter of Windhelm. The Market in Windhelm also has general good merchants. If you do get the speech perk Saozig mentioned then you can add all the Alchemy shops into the fold as well.
If you do enter the thieves guild...
I agree with the others that any perks into lock picking are wasted perks. Lock picks are cheap and don't weigh anything. I carry at least 200 at any given time so if I break 10 opening a lock no big deal. Pickpocketing on the other hand I have perked all the way up. The top perks will allow...
