most likely. it just seemed strange that even a towns blacksmith could be killed cause now i can't trade with him anymore. people in town still refer to him as if he is alive and yet still walk up to his body and say how terrible it is that he's dead. Also, their bodies never disappear...
i've spotted several characters dead on the ground, all for unknown/unwitnessed reason. Those two brothers Vilkas and Tulkas or whatever. Also Alvra (sp?) the smith is dead on the ground near his house. These are also the only characters who's dead bodies don't disappear. I'm really curious to...
UPDATE: I have just gone back to fellglow to scout for the key one last time. When I arrived all the enemies had respawned (days later). I very carefully went through them one at a time and SUCCESS! I found the key on a random Novice Fire Mage.

I was looking for him and his brother in Jorrvaskr to train and I couldn't find them anywhere. Then, as I'm leaving I see Vilkas dead on the ground right outside the front door??? Last time I saw him we were at Ysgramor's tomb with Wuuthrad where him and his brother hang back and they left...
just gonna have to let it go unfortunately. anybody know if there is a way to cancel the mission or get re-asigned to it? Also will not being able to complete getting the books deal me out of a serious plot line?

This is some bullplops man, i've checked every body. I'm starting to wonder if the one with the key glitched through the ground or something......
I can not find the key to open the doors to the dungeon for the life of me. I've scowered the internet and have gotten different answers from "its on the wall" to "you pick it off a dead mage" to "orthorn opens the door for you". I've been all over that place checking every nook and cranny...
