Latest playthrough: I'd done the Civil War questline before the main quest for the first time, so Balgruuf agreed to help me trap the dragon right off and I went to ask the Blades to help me call a dragon. I avoided Delphine and talked to Esbern and this is how it went:
Esbern: I've discovered...
Vorstag once attacked some Thalmor screaming: "Your kind has no place here!" My High Elf character was pretty upset on account of she was Vorstag's wife. She woke up the next day with some lovers comfort though so he must managed to convince her he was talking about Thalmor specifically and not...
"Glad to see you came to your senses lass. Ready to make some coin?"
Now, this line enrages me for two reasons.
Number one: My first character never stole anything, so when this red headed creep forced a conversation on her saying she couldn't have possibly earned any of her septims honestly...
I've only played the DB once because I don't like killing NPCs and I chose to kill the Emperor because I was impressed with how calmly he was taking it and he seemed a nice guy.
I'm not completely sure it was the right thing to do though. The Dark Brotherhood is a business as well as a family...
This seems like the right moment in this thread to re-tell this story:
You know the all-powerful Morokei? The one who holds the Staff of Magnus and has a very powerful mask? The one who taunts you with a magic depleting wind about how hopeless and doomed you are throughout the entire dungeon...
My emotional stance is: "Paarthurnax rules, Blades drool" for reasons others have more eloquently stated above this post.
But even if I was looking at it from a gameplay perspective I think I'd choose the Greybeards because I don't want them to stop giving me the: "Find the Word of Power" misc...
This happened to me once during Message to Whiterun:
Ulfric: Return that axe to the man who sent it and tell him he should prepare to entertain visitors soon.
Me: You will be stopped.
Ulfric: Even if I die in a dark alley with a knife in my back, the people will have seen...
Erandur: Windhelm is...
I'd like to recommend the Imperial Army as a source of Amulets. I just took a new character through the Imperial questline and she looted two Talos Amulets, a Kynareth Amulet, a Mara Amulet and a Dibella Amulet off Stormcloaks through her army duties.
Dawnbreaker as I love the appearance of it, plus those desecrated corpses have oodles of gold on them which I need roundabout that level. Also I don't have to roleplay to get it on account Meridia just announces you are going to destroy the foul darkness in her temple when you touch it. A lot of...
I've had more success in keeping Malborn alive once I discovered Imp Stool+Mora Tapinella+Canis Root = potion of paralysis & lingering damage health. I love alchemy, so by the time I get to that quest it is usually high and often perked. It's pretty damn satisfying watching a Thalmor soldier go...
Yes, I had a lot of fun my first playthrough buying all the houses to see what they looked like, but it isn't something I feel obliged to do now. I quite often buy Breezehome because it is cheap and there, but mostly I build a Hearthfire home because I greatly enjoy the challenge of finding all...
I just finished off Lost to the Ages and came away with a lovely Aetherium Staff, a Grand Soul Gem, two refined malachites an amulet of Dibella and along the way some goat horns and the only bear in Skyrim (as opposed to cave bears).
Now I'm off to do half of the Forbidden Legend quest and...
I've found in the past that amulets are so freaking difficult to fine Radiant Rainment isn't much help. The part of Skyrim that calculates what random loot is available in shops, if I am lucky and it is in a nice mood, goes: "You are after Amulets of Julianos and Talos? Ha ha, have an Amulet of...
My current Imperial Legionnaire doesn't worship/accept Talos, but it is nothing personal. She joined the army because she knows she's good at killing people and she wanted to make some septims, not because of any personal convictions. Joining the army was basically the first step towards her...
Please kill Idolaf Battle-Born. He is located in Whiterun. Your reward is the standard rate for assassinations.
I once had a character who had seen him abusing Frida about her son and felt she would see no reason to be nice and picked 'Grey-Mane' when he asked her to pick a side. He spent the...
I started a High Elf I'm calling Darkling.
The story behind it is when she was young she got Thralled by a vampire who kept her around for years as a convenient blood source and servant. He called her: "his little Darkling" because of her dark hair and eyes (unusual for an Altmer). Darkling...
I had a roleplay go completely awry thanks to my reading habits. I've been re-reading Garth Nix's Old Kingdom Trilogy as a prequel is coming out soon. My character who is a conjuration restoration expert specialising in necromancy was a character I created because I wanted to see if it was...
I haven't had destruction on quite that scale before, but one time I got pretty intense about Rorikstead. It was a no fast travel character on her way back to Whiterun in pouring rain who noticed lots of pretty flashy lights going up in the hill around the town. So I walked up there and saw the...
I had this one character who was doing the Civil War questline that dumped a lot of gems, ore and pelts into one of the chests at the Rift Imperial Camp before going off to take the Fort, and that was when I discovered that the Imperial Camps vanish off the face of Tamriel when they take over a...
One I've played with in the past and I have decided to tweak the rules and redo is the ex-vampire's Thrall. Basically, she spent years following her vampire around until he died and set her mind free, and as a result she is now completely terrified of people. So she won't talk to people unless...
