How do you backstab a Dragon?
I luv Dwemer ruins. Just luv 'em. I luv the maze aspect to them and the automatons are so much more fun than the boring Drauger to deal with. Also luv dealing with Falmer and Chaurus. Good fights.

Me, I find most of the Nordic ruins a bore. They're always the same and their stupid puzzles are so predictable.

Obviously I'd rather be fighting bandits, brigands, pirates, soldiers, mages or wildlife, but all in all, I really like the Dwemer ruins. There's something about their abandonment and stone that just resonates with my soul.

Why is the alto wine always gone?
first off dwemer ruins do not contain robots, they are steam driven Automatons. Automatons are basically non-electronic moving machines, and in dwemer ruins if you look closely you can clearly see what appears to be steam, or possibly some type of gas. I personally enjoy roaming through the dwemer ruins as for the falmer, well they're just part of the package sadly. Skyrim along with the previos TES games have always had a sense of history/Lore that can be found in game. Having dwemer ruins just adds to the experience of lore.

The robots are annoying and Falmer are incredibly loathsome, but the dungeons themselves are pretty cool.

They also have better traps than Nordic ruins or caves. :p

I just did a Solstheim Dwemer ruin, and it had a great puzzle. Wasn't obvious, and even after figuring out what to do it was easier said than done. The "Eagle Whale Snake" puzzles in Nordic ruins are always way too easy.

What I don't like about Dwemer ruins (in addition to the denizens) is the sounds. All those pumps, pipes and machines get really annoying really fast. :S

I don't know. I kind of like the Falmer and the Chaurus and spiders. It's a different kind of challenge. They're so much more difficult to sneak around and often have far better treasure and ingredients than I can get on the surface. Plus I have a penchant for Falmer Helmets and it's the only place I can get them and the chitin to improve them. I just wish you could collect the chaurus poison and use it like you do with the spiders. I have always wanted a character to wear the heavy Falmer armor, but have yet to find any that it actually looks good on.

Most of the time I love them. :) When you take a step back and just observe, they are really fascinating places; I love the way the metal is sculpted beautifully with the stone, I love how they integrate amazing machinery into every room, and I love how you can hear the steam hissing and pistons pounding and humming out of the vents, I love the gas lights and the amazing forges and the furniture and objects you can find. I would honestly be very happy to live in a Dwemer ruin, in a place where I can hear steam hissing and the pistons, but not too loudly, a place with a forge and plenty of places to store little things. :) My only issue with the ruins is when Falmer are in them, although I do find the Falmer fascinating too. Also, I wish you could take those awesome vases in the ruins, like the one in the Pawned Prawn; I would put those EVERYWHERE in my house, I love them so much.

I like Dwemer ruins, but I hate Blackreach. Really despise it. So much that in all these years of Skyrim I've only completed the main quest with two characters, and I gave the last one PTSD and a drinking problem afterward.

Oddly I've ended up doing a bunch of dwemer side quests in TESO. They've been enjoyable.

I don't mind them as they are a good source for soul gems, Dwarven bolts, Daedric arrows and Dwarven metal ingots. Their chests always have great loot in them to. I am not all that keen on Blackreach as it is too dark for me, I usually just run through it to the tower, I might mine some geode veins but that's it. After doing one of the ruins on Solstheim I now have a permanent Dwarven Sphere follower and he is very loyal and good in a fight (and so gosh darn cute!) So yeah, I like them.

I like the extra challenge of them, and I think there are just the right amount of Dwemer ruins and Falmer caves to balance out the fortresses and regular caves. With tougher enemies comes faster leveling! I think the game would be duller without the Falmer and Chauruses, though I can see why people would prefer no robots.

I've only recently downloaded all of the patches for the game, and I'm continuing an old game which already has 100 smithing, but in future I think I'd be spending more time in Dwemer ruins to collect bent scrap metal etc. I might even go ahead and make/smith a load of daedric armour and weapons before making smithing legendary to see how it works without iron dagger/leather bracer exploiting

I don't mind Blackreach much, but I do think it's way too big and hard to find your way around, plus there should be a lot more stuff to interact with. I love the way the place looks though, there's something very mystical about it. The Crimson Nirnroots were a cool addition, although a real pain to find.

im playing a pure mage, but for the dwemer ruin I may need to switch it up a bit, as far as i can tell dwemer automatons have no elemental weakness, matter of fact they havea 25% magic resist plus poison immune and frost immune... so fire and lightning would do the most damage as far as magic goes but with a 25% all magic resist might as well go barehanded. maybe my thralls can handle them, who knows.

I just love those ruins. Like others, I always seek those soul gems and loot. Even higher difficulty, flamer are not problem with sneak and archery over 50 7+ some enchanmed in gear and weapons.

I put some mods that make night and dungeons even darker. It feel so good when cannot see all. If sneaking, I wont use torch etc, because it will gime my location.

As people have said, the puzzles and traps are awesome and I actually love getting lost in the ruins, trying to figure out their tricky puzzles, and trying to avoid the automatons. :D The Dwemer ruins have such depth and intrigue to them!

I
I completely hate them. I think they are way to big. They are also tedious and frustrating. Thanks for taking the time to read and possibly responding.

Hello guys!!!
I am a level 32 Imperial that specializes in one-handed combat. I actually enjoy Dwemer Dungeons because I find that they are full of good items and soul gems. I don't necessarily like fighting the robots though, because they don't seem quite as realistic (if you know what I mean). My first Dwemer Dungeon was the one on the 'Elder Knowledge' quest and it was very difficult at first but now I like them. To be honest the hardest part of the Dwemer dungeon was the Falmer and the most annoying part was the sound of all the mechanical gears which was really loud so you couldn't hear enemies.

Dr. D'Irsei has no use for them really. If the Falmer didn't want discount dental work then why did they send the guy on the curiously short-legged horse to make an appointment? Once the dentist has arrived, someone must pay. Because someone always does.

Instead no. It's the blades that swing around, forcing the back office personnel to hop over them, and spilling instruments everywhere. That's unsanitary. That additional cleansing procedure? It costs the Falmer extra. And then the droids. Why must there always be teh droids. The Dr. already has droids playing their part in the back office. They're called Falmer, and what they do is die. In a loud Fiend Folio-like manner.

There are entirely and unacceptably too many locked doors! Why? Is that where the Falmer are keeping the money they owe the clinic? The doors do nothing but earn the Dr. interest on what's owed. Compound interest.

Dwemer ruins benefit no one. Please devs just drag the mouse over all of them at once until they are highlighted, right click, and "Send to Recycle Bin". Do it today. Do it for your country. Do it for your very soul.

I enjoy them, granted the Falmer and their poisonous pets can be a pain in the ass but the ruins have great loot, plus if you're into smithing and use the heavy side of the perk tree all the scrap metal available is a huge help in leveling the skill up.
