After you complete the first quest for DawnGuard and you bring Serana back to her home, you have the chance to become a vampire... If you say you were a werewolf he said he would wash that filth away. I've been a werewolf for quite some time now. And I think if a vampire were to fight a werewolf the werewolf would tear the vampire to pieces. Do you agree? Which do you think is better?

I will not tolerate failure...
the vampire lord would win, they can use magic as well as melee attacks the werewolf can only use melee also fully perked the vampire lord will constently heal very fast in combat a werewolf would lose to a vampire lord in many scenarios especcialy if the vampire lord just floated above a body of waer and flung bloobombs at the werewolf if the werewolf tries to go into melee with a vampire lord the vampire lord can use supernatural reflexes slowing everything around him down also the werewolf would need to get into melee combat against a vampire lord where they would be attacked by the night cloak thus lose health without the vampire lord even attacking them while the vampire lord gains the health that the werewolf loses

Dr. D'Irsei has been both, and currently remains a werewolf. For the money, I'd say being a werewolf is more fun and you can whoop more people/monsters as a werewolf than as a vampire. The vampire powers are cool, but if you're going to be one it seems a little lame that Vampire Lord is actually a downgrade from the character itself in normal form as a vampire. You lose speed and weapons as a Vampire Lord and only have the under-powered claws and two spells basically, plus you're slow and you can only hover, not fly.

If you don't play your cards right, you will be pelted with violence and strike a really absurd figure as a rotting looted corpse on the floor while seemingly far less powerful characters, including your followers, are fighting over and around you. As a werewolf, you have far more speed than as a character, and you hit like a truck. If you're going to give up your weapons and normal spells, there should be a considerable amount of melee compensation and as a Vampire Lord there simply isn't. Stick with werewolf.

Depends, I would say that a high-level Werewolf would destroy a low-level Vampire Lord, but a high-level VL would slaughter a low-level Werewolf.

I think the Absorb Health effect, Necromancy, Gargoyles and Mist Form ability would swing it for me, and say Vampire Lord. Although, some of the abilities and team effects for Werewolves are interesting, too.

Obviously if one is perked out, while the other is not, the perked out one will win regardless IMO.

However, if both were equally perked out or perkless, I honestly think the werewolf will win, especially in daylight. (But even in night)

Here's why for me: First, while vamp can do melee attack, the werewolf would own him on this. Yes, VL has magic. Well, by the time you back away, cast your magic, aim, and fire away.... I have already eaten your face.

Werewolves do not fl*ff around, they just aim and attack savagely as fast as they can. Where as VL works completely different. You have to plan a little more and move around, wait for the magic to charge, cast and aim, etc. Now, maybe if the VL was VERY far away from the werewolf, he'd probably win. He could just spam magic at him before he had a chance to reach him. But equally face off in a ring, werewolf by far.

Plus, I know this has nothing to do with fighting, but VL's are SO damn ugly. Sure they look like they could beat your ass, but just so ugly looking. I think they did a pretty good on the werewolves especially the view when sprinting and attacking, I feel so bad ass.

I'm a werewolf but was a vampire during the Soul Cairn quests in DG. Both are cool but to be honest, at level 98 now, my human form is far stronger than myself in either transformation. Of the two in human form, the disease resistance of the werewolf is handy whereas the sunlight damage vampires get is annoying. It's also easier going incognito amongst the public as they don't recognize you as an out of transformation werewolf except the few times you might hear "is that fur growing out of your ears?"
