I hate her because she breaks into my house and kidnaps me in my sleep!

You were just cranky that it wasn't a handsome noble Knight, come to ride you off in the sunset.

At first, I thought Astrid was going to be a good leader, but when she put down the Tennents, and placed her authority to be higher than the Night Mother's, that's when I decided she wasn't a true Dark Brotherhood follower.

I don't hate Astrid. In fact I probably like her character more than the majority of the others within the original game. She thought what she did would save their entire remaining organization for the sacrifice of just one still relatively new member. Plus she recognized her mistake that she made out of desperation. Plus her voice is one of my favorites on the game!

If your character was so powerful, why would they answer to organisations like the Brotherhood and people like Astrid who is concerned more about her own grip over the Sanctuary than the good of the Brotherhood? >>>> I do agree with this completely and something more .... being an assassin is contradicting the whole Dragonborn nature and the purpose of him in Skyrim. You can choose whatever you want to be but the whole idea of the dovahkiin to exist, is to free Skyrim from Alduin, Miraak, Ancano and the vamps. He is a hero, a defender not an assassin for fun only. The game take you to do the thieves guild ( if you want to get the Nightingale armor and weapon ) and in my case, that was the only reason I did that questline, otherwise, I would not be taking orders from that stupid Maven-black Briar and if I could, I will cut her head off in no time. Vamps are a menace, they kill innocent people just to feed. Anytime they enter a town, they are being attacked by everyone nearby. For me, it just does not make any sense to become a vamp after you have been practically, the savior of the entire province and excuse my opinion but that is the way the dovahkiin was setup in the game; from the very beggining, he is a savior not a slayer and if he has to kill, it is because he has not choice and with the only purpose to do so to free skyrim from people’s enemies. Just my 2 cents .... ;)

I agree with you at a degree but what if the only reason he kills Alduin is because he doesn't wan't the world to end so he can keep killing people or he wants to choose the side in the civil war so he can take over and be king of Skyrim and not have to end it soon because Alduin ate the universe the game ends it after the civil war because it doesn't know what kind of character we made our dovahking

Generally when I play a RPG I always end up with a lawful alignment even if its evil-lawful. As such I prefer Astrid as she is the boss and the leader and I will follow her directions to a T. Ciero is a zealot and a nut and had to be put out of his misery with a poisoned tip arrow. Sometimes the old ways have to change.

The other members of the Dark Brotherhood are more interesting than Astrid. And most of them get killed off because of her. so Astrid can go f#ck herself.

The DB is not a a rental organization with 'five tenants', it is a bunch of assassins who are supposed to follow a set of rules, the 'five tenets'

/pedant Off/

Sorry about that

BONG! BONG! BONG! Grammar Police! Grammar Police! Grammar Police! (Just kidding :))

On the plus side, at least the poster was able to use a word (even if it was spelled wrong) like tenents. I says a little something about vocabulary.

Still - wouldn't it be nice if your new acolytes were tenants? I'm sure the coffers could use the boost (after spending 20K to refurb the Sanctuary!), plus, at least with leases you could simply evict them rather than killing them when you wanted to get rid of 'em. :)

Agree to disagree. :)

The only other ones I had an interest in as characters were Gabriella and Babette.
What about the spider! I liked him! (Of course I like it when my kid brings one home as a pet too - I know, sick, sick, sick... :))

Astrid
Pros:
She's cute and has a great voice.

Cons:
She's a murderous sociopath.
Her "Dark Brotherhood" is little more than a band of thugs.
The Dragonborn can't marry her.
She kidnaps you in your sleep.
Her paranoid delusions lead to the destruction of her home and friends.
She's a back-stabbing traitor.

Cicero
Pros:
He was right.

Cons:
He was right.

I think the pro's outweight the con's with Astrid (of course it's the same way in real life for me too).

Cicero? Spot on! : BTW, how long does it take Lorius to fix his dern wagon? Poor guy has been standing there for almost 40 days now! Makes me wish I could either fix it myself or beat Lorius down until he did what he promised!

Astrid brought about the deaths of those closest to her because she couldn't handle a little competition from the new kid. She didn't keep the Tenets, and the DB was floundering under her leadership. Plus I wanted to do dirty things to her gruff, barefooted husband. These are the reasons I don't like her.

A little bit of were-love, eh? Now that I can get with!
