Oh yeah. Who could possibly forget the ole "Red Ring of Death". Yikes, I remember when I got it years ago & I screamed out something like. "(absurdity)..I got the red ring of death!!!". My parents downstairs where like.."What?!?". But I was still under warranty, so it wasn't too bad.
As far as the graphics card, I've heard the same rumor of AMD. But, I would imagine that Microsoft will have a sweet deal with whatever card manufacturer they go with. If they make soooo many consoles, they're bound to be getting them at a great price. Still, if they went with something like the AMD 7970, and it burns out after the warranty expires, then it will be expensive to repair. One of the reasons why it would make sense that they release it later towards 2015. Factoring in the economy and whatnot, so by then the newer tech might be cheaper and the rumor is that they plan to make the console available at a cheap retail price.
And if Timesplitters 4 is the demo they made, I really hope they brought back the monkeys
