Do you lose your enchanted items as well as current perks and level? example- if you had an enchanted ring with unlimited magicka exploited onto it would you lose that item?

Dave, The Quiet One.
No, why would you ?
You are only making a Skill Legendary, it doesn't affect any items you have made. For example, I reached 100 in Alchemy, so I made all the potions I needed then made it Legendary, Alchemy then reset back to 15 & I got all the perk points that I had spent on Alchemy back to use on any skill I wanted to use them on.

ah.. ok, i was just wondering cause i've heard the only problem with this update is it blocks the use of any exploits, hence why i haven't let it update since.. i just assumed it might also get rid of any items which have been created with potion exploits.

I've made alchemy legendary a few times, and smithing once so far and it hasn't blocked any exploits. I do use the restoration loop exploit from time to time and have a ring with crazy magicka regen on it.

How do you backstab a Dragon?
I can only come at this from the point of view of someone that never uses exploits (while I understand the want to, I don't need to since I never play above adept at this point), I have legendized any number of skills. While the combat, magicka & armor skills become somewhat inconvenient as you basically go back to beginner's level on them, I've never had a problem with smithing, alchemy or enchanting. Everything I've actually made stays exactly the same (with the exception of base damage and armor level if I legendize combat or armor and, of course, magicka drops way down).

I believe the stuff that update did was to halt the Oghma book exploit as well as to reduce the Septim's an invested Trader would have ( before the update, investing in a Trader more or less guaranteed a place to sell lot's of high end loot).

Can you tell me about the Alchemy/Enchant loop? I worked it quite nicely before my accidental char deletion. Did you have the DLC's (both or one?) in when you used it? Right now I just have Skyrim installed, no update, and my DLC's waiting in an external drive.

I have all the DLC's. I never used the restoration exploit before. A few days ago I tried out the exploit and I don't think it will work the same way it did, from what I hear. Like right now I have a ring of magick regen. It makes my magick regen almost instantly. But if I take off that ring it will go back to the original percentage. But I guess you could do the exploit a few times and make enchanting potions in crazy high percents then go and enchant some gear to make alchemy potions better. I hope I explained that right.

When I did it before, I made my ring and necklace have large amounts of Majika, as it seems regen won't work to well until I stop casting (at least what I observe wearing the Archmage Robes).

Hmm, guess I'll have to install a DLC, and the update to see if it'll work as before. The update now is coded so that you, or rather I (playing on an XBox), cannot play at all if I have either DLC in unless the update is also in. Even if I'm disconnected from the Internet. Which I do not understand why Bethesda did that.

I'm on PS3. My magicka still goes down, but it seems slower. But if I stop, even for a second it fills back up. I think I want to try making a ring with a bunch of added magicka, see if that works better.

Yeh, someone told me way back that having a large amount on hand as opposed to regeneration of the health, stamina or majika.

I also made some potions, for health regen that work great when you are up against a lot or powerful enemies. It makes my health regen insane amounts faster. I think it said something like 60,000% faster. I have used a couple. I'm now up to a higher levels and looking for different things to do. I don't use these crazy potions all the time, but I do like to change things up from time to time.

I like making the Improve Blacksmith poition's, run up the damage value or whatever on my "armor", especially the Forswron. I love that on my char, looks like something out of 10,000 B.C., lol! The original one, with Raquel Welch.

i have both dawnguard and dragonborn dlc's "had no interest in heathfire" and all the potion exploits, smithing and even the oghma infinium skill raising trick works the same as it always has, only minor inconvenience the dlc caused was you can no longer purchase the alchemy lab in whiterun for some odd reason, but it doesn't matter cause you can still purchase the home in solitude with all its decorations and it has plenty of bookshelves. ;) just takes a little longer to save up for it cause that home is way more expensive than the one in whiterun.

Odd. I have all the DLCs and can still get the lab in Whiterun without issue. I kind of like Hearthfire. I can do some great things with the houses (especially now that I've figured out how to move things around). Sure it can drive you nuts as you can never place anything permanently, but, whatja gonna do. I agree that Proudspire is a great home, but I still haven't figured out that odd, vacant room in the basement. Great to store tons of hides though!

that is strange indeed.. my only guess is perhaps if you got hearthfire it fixes the alchemy lab problem in whiterun.
yea that extra room in proudspire does seem out of place, i love it tho! i call it "the armory" every weapon i wanna keep i just walk in there and drop, instead of using a chest. :D

I was storing all the bodies of all the victims of various violence in Solitude there (vampires, fights, etc...), but the stink got so overwhelming my Housecarl couldn't sleep. She must have got fed up 'cause I came back one day and the room was devoid of bodies. Oh well, no more Namia parties in Solitude. Probably a good thing.

Well, without the date or DLC's, I have the Alchemy lab in Breezehome. But, for some reason, no resting when I sleep. I also have Honeyside, both Enchant and Alchemy Labs, but nothing from the Jarl about being Thane (I've yet to get the War to begin).

I enjoy the exploits now, as I've worked without them before, and now just want to kick back and have fun. I've got a good supple of ingredients, so I might try the loop again. I was able to get good Enchant potions made, just having a bit applying them to what I want to Enchant. I might not be quick enough though I think...30-seconds?

Are you sure you're not resting? I never get the notification anymore, but, when I check my active affects it's there. Oddly though, unless I sleep a total of 6 hours or more, I don't get the well rested, just the rested. Kinda makes sense though.

I get the rested at inn's and such, and even on pallets when inside ruins, but not within my own homes, lol. Maybe my char just likes being away, and out on her jobs/quests?
