I bought Skyrim last week for my PS3 after much debating on whether I'd like it on a console. I played Morrowwind waaaaay back in the day when I was a PC gamer, and wasn't sure how this type of game would translate onto a console.

After being completely sick and tired of COD and BF3, and the boredom that has come from playing them, I stumped up a couple of quid and bought Skyrim.....OMG! I've gone from barely being able to play 15-30 mins of the FPS rubbish before getting bored, to this. First day on Skyrim I put it in at 12:30, the next time I looked away it was 5:30pm. It's a total life sucker and I love it! :)

I just waived goodbye to Saturday, and literally played it all day and night. I'm in love with gaming again. The one thing I would love to be able to do though is play online with a friend and roam and terrorise Skyrim...one can wish

Your enthusiasm will gradually be worn down as you discover the quest bugs...but you might get lucky...

what kind of character did you make

Well I haven't played one of these type games in ages, so I didn't have a specific type of character I wanted to build. I always choose Elf because I think of Lord Of The Rings and Elfs are cool. And I'm just going along making weapons and armour and doing stuff. No real purpose.

Now I've learnt more about the game and different spells and enchantments, I may start a new character with a specific direction in mind though.

I've never gotten more trophies for any other game other than Skyrim. It's the only game I have more than 40% completed out of all the games I've played on PS3. Right now, I'm at 89% and with only four trophies left out of the 50.

I have to agree. I can see me spending many many hours and days on this game.

It is a very, very absorbing game where hours can literally drift by without you knowing it. I played over 300 hours with my first character and although I'd completed the guild quests and finished the main quest there was still quite a lot of things I'd left unfinished and places left undiscovered. I'm on my second playthrough now and am still playing it every day.

I haven't found anything gamebreaking only because of the UESP wiki and the console commands, specifically the setstage command.

Plenty of quest bugs await to screw with the unprepared quester who does not save save every 10 minutes.

Still, by far the best thing I ever played!

Yeah I've learnt to constantly save my game. Found that out the hard way after a few times being killed by dragons and giants
