Her heart beat a frantic rhythm just as her feet created a staccato beat upon the cold, stone floor. Tripping upon a rock, the young, Nord woman tumbled her way down a flight of stairs, coming to rest near a headstone. Looking up through misted eyes, a flash of genius lit her scrambled mind; He'll never look for me in the Hall of the Dead!. Such a good thought at the time... Scrambling over the threshold, she closed the great, oaken door with a muted click. Breathing hard, she turned and slumped to the ground, attempting to slow her breathing so as not to attract his attention. Stiffening at the sound of quiet footfalls from beyond her hiding spot, she pressed herself closer to the door in an attempt to prevent entry. The sound of quiet humming came to her ears and she shuddered at the unmistakable sound of a dagger being drawn. Holding her breath now, she waited till all was silent. A whoosh of air accompanied the release of her pent up tension. I'm safe. "Hide and seek my favourite game!" Her shriek was cut off by a quick hand pressed to her throat.
"Now, now deary, no need to scream. They'll find us then and our fun will end hahahahah." The woman looked up into her assailant's face, only to find a jester mask staring back, its eyes ominously lit by a strange, blue light. "Who are you? What do you want?"
"I want to play is all, but you, you are a wicked one Susanna I guess that's what earned you your nickname heheehe. Oh yes you tried to hide from me, poor, sweet, Malum. No matter, I've found you now, and the game is up. Close your eyes, sleep a while, or stay awake, for my greatest trick." At this, a maniacal smile lit his... face?
Authors Note: Hey guys, sorry I started off so short. This is more like a trial to see if anyone wanted to see it continued. My next posts will definitely be longer depending on how bored I am or how much time is at my disposal.
