I just attempted to use the glitch by gaining the book in game with all updates active. I had run both possibilities in my head before I saved within Breezhome then exited to my PS3 menu to delete the system updates and standard game data. My latter prediction proved right as I was not able to load my file. So, I wonder, having now stripped my game back down to Vanilla Skyrim this is what I wonder. Considering I know for certain the glitch will be active with the game like this I am curious as to what would happen after. Would my file carry over to the updated game? Or would it be denied much like the reverse had happened?

do the glitch and then Update the game once you reach level 81, Don't delete the update then as your game will be unloadable

Ah, so my latter theory is the correct idea after all. Thanks much. This is going to take a while as I have planned out a character for each race in the game. Wish me luck.

I know what you were thinking with that idear, when I played on console I thought my idear would work my doing the glitch then udating making all my skills legendary then deleting the update and repeat but alas that does not work

I anticipated that by doing the reverse first. Best to do all planned characters in one shot, do the update, then crank up the difficulty and have fun with the rest of the game.

I play on PC so I have mods at my disposal, My main Character is a Level 250 Lich but even though I can deal 550 Damage per second with Lightning Storm and a similar amount of damage with Incinerate I don't go any higher then Adept Difficulty

Well, there's no surprise there considering the game does it's best to raise the bar as much as the players do. Lvl 250 sounds like you'd have Alduins flying everywhere and Dragon Priests coming out of the water works.

not really but I did up the Difficulty of Dragons by quite a bit, Legendary dragons know have 7000 Health instead of 4500 and they can also use storm call so it balences itself out and I intend to use Northern Encounters that features enemies up to level 100 but I essentially use a God-like Being considering he is Both a Lich and the Dragonborn so I like to feel Powerful, it gives me the sense that I have Achieved something
and can finally stick it to the Daedra

I have an XBox "slim". I did get to play before Bethesda knocked out that exploit, but how can I do it now? I've gotten my char up to level 25, but find I cannot play at all unless the "title update" is in (unless both DLC's are out).

Does this mean I need to re-roll, put in the DLC's, then disconnect from the Internet so I can use the exploit?

DO NOT put in the DLCs. One would have to play Skyrim on FULL vanilla status without any updates or the DLCs to achieve the glitch for one or all characters one intends to buff up. You would need to disable your internet connection through your system and delete the update data. Play through, do the glitch, and then once you're satisfied reupload the updates and DLC. However this is under the hopes that the updates will apply to the save file, which, according to our Necromancer friend, will in fact apply to any and all data. I tried it in the reverse and expected as such. But having the game on Vanilla first seems like a better option. Considering the game would update all data for the DLC. And it wouldn't be able to change much else if you have maxed the levels. I doubt it would be able to alter that of all things with the update.

But I thought the DLC's HAD to be installed in order to just do the quest to get the book. I know for the Artherium Crown, Dawnguard has to be installed, and I had thought it also has to be in for the Infinium exploit.

So all I do need to do is to remove the DLC's, the title update and go see the old Mage up past Winterhold?

Basically, yes. Take your system offline by disabling the online within it. Then remove the DLC just in case. After that, blow through, get to the Infinium quest, get the book, and then have at it. After which, if you're satisfied with just one reupdate, reload DLC, then load the character. If it doesn't work, you can yell at me. I'm doing this to TEN characters, planning to get them all where I want them which is with book in hand and levels at 81. So if this doesn't work then I only have myself to be mad at.

Well, I ended re-rolling again after I put the DLC's on an external drive. So I'm starting all over, again. Made it to High Hrothgar, and will be going after the Horn. Then I'll make my way to Winterhold, then to Septimus shack and see how this plays out.

I don't have the "title update" in, so we'll see if this'll work. Dumb-butt me flattened the hard drive, forgetting to put the sign-in avatar on the external, so I "lost" the originals of the DLC's, having kept them on the external drive.

I had wondered about that "fix" Bethesda put in to prevent the exploit of using the Infinium. Just happened to find, quite by accident, that the "fix" was, is?, possibly only for the bookshelf? And not other storage places like a dresser or end table, or even a chest. What I saw was done on a PC, but I wonder how well it'll work on other platforms?

Here's the YouTube link;

You're probably right, more than likely I didn't use the alternative storage properly. But what the heck anyhow...I'm not putting Dragonborn or Dawnguard in as yet anyhow. I think I'll just work Skyrim itself for awhile, then load DB, then later on, DG.

Oh, I don't need to worry about the cache, I moved my profile, DB and DG to and external drive, then formatted the XBox hard drive. Then did a full install of Skyrim, and re-rolled.

I'm sure I just didn't work the exploit right is all. But I think like I said above, going to hold off on putting DB and DG in for awhile.
