Last night i was in solsthiem near raven rock and to my absolute amazement here comes Serana in the distance walking right up to me, i hadn't seen her since i killed her father which was months ago! she then prompts the same exact dialog as when Harkon is killed, asking if i'd like her to continue to tag along, i agreed and left her in an ash spawn crypt.. What the hell man??? what was she doing there??? and why was she still under the assumption we just defeated Harkon???
Anybody else had an odd occurrence of a totally out of place NPC? -_-

hahaha that is definitely a Glitch, I had serana stand out in front of the Cave you enter to get to the Forgotton Vale for some reason

I've had Serana turn up in that one cave you enter after killing mercer fray, this happened right after that boss fight in the thieves guild quests and even weirder was she just started following me again! the other 2 were oblivious to her presence, truly weird.. i'm starting to think Serana is stalking me! lol

I've walked into my house once and found it full of former followers, some merchants and the courier. Some of them were sitting at the table and others were just walking around. Best glitch I've ever seen.

You have no idea how pleased I was to read that opening post. I am being stalked by my two Housecarls. I was wondering if I was the only one.

I had Vladimir walking around the farm area just outside of Whiterun as I was heading home late at night, but the creepiness prize goes to Gregor. Gregor has appeared in Helgen as I was starting the main quest. I have also come across him in the Hjaalmarch wilderness while I was hunting swamp fungal pods. I also woke up in Lakeview Manor next to my husband one time and Gregor was in our bedroom. While I was thinking: "What is he doing here?" Gregor just calmly walked out the door like he had every right to come and go as he pleases.

Never before has hearing: "Honoured to see you again, my thane" evoked such profound feelings of unease.

I don't think it's out of place. And seems it's not a glitch. Seems it happens. It is script written I think.

After completing the Dawnguard main questline, she can normally be found at these same two locations, although you will occasionally randomly encounter her in the wilds of Skyrim, where she can recruited to follow you again.

This is from UESP. Check out Serana's page.

Serana follows me; so haven't experienced this. Dunno about the housecarls though.

Coincidentally, I had just come out of Anise's Cabin in the middle of the night (not far from Riverwood), and Belethor casually strolls by. I'm thinking, what the hell? I've never seen him stray outside of Whiterun, much less anywhere past Riverwood. This just happened yesterday, so good timing on your thread, HappyFace.

This thread is really an eye opener. Gregor wanders all over the place , he leaves my house in the Pale and shows up at L.V.M. He also leaves the house in the Pale every night and walks to White run , along with my Housecarl . I know this cause I followed them like several times . I'm like ??? I guess bottom line is NPC'S don't have to sleep just because you give them a bed .

A more lore-based out of place NPC for me would be that Altmer Imperial from the Imperial Camp in Riften.
He says that he was or wanted to be stationed in Skyrim to keep an eye on the Thalmor, and then he's placed far east, and far away from the Thalmor places which are all either near Solitude or Markarth. Well done, Bethesda.

I've only had one such experience.

Was wandering around the swamps in Hjaalmarch, with a small bounty (40 gold, IIRC) in that Hold, when Vilkas suddenly showed up. There was no Sabre Cat corpse or Ria around, so he shouldn't have had any reason to be there.

However, even though the price on my head was well below guards' "insta-arrest" limit, he did the constantly talking to me thing. And a couple minutes later vanished as unexpectedly as he'd appeared. o_O

As if Hjaalmarch wasn't creepy enough with all those Chaurus, spiders, trolls and other monsters.

Every time I fast travel to Falkareth there is a whole bunch of guards gathered at the main gate. Each time I go there, there are more and more. Started out with just a couple but the last time I did it there was close to twenty of them, all standing there with torches, like they were having a meeting or something. It's kind of awkward walking through them if you have a bounty there.

I find Aela wandering so often I don't care about it now. I hired Aela as steward for Lakeview. But she doesn't stay there. I find her wandering the countryside or at Jorrvaskr. Aela should be at home and keeping an eye on that bard. I lost a few things after I hired him. I think he is an associate of the thieves guild. Bardy thief!

Aela's fine as long as you keep her on a leash.

I went into a crypt full of Vampires, and to my surprise I was greeted by Shadowmere, he charged in and stomped some Vamp heads in.

Another out of place moment was when I went to the Companions and decided to check for jobs, and Kodlak was there.
This was after he died..

You might also want to get a flee collar for yourself if you plan on sleeping with her...
