True, but, sometimes they won't attack you. I even block their path and keep bothering them and they still won't. Besides, what's the point of being a viglanti if you're not going to get them first.

my current character is a lowlife
Mine's an obsessed vigilanti. Kinda like batman only not really worried about the collateral damage he causes and no problem killing the bad guys.

lol our characters would hate each other cause mine is the exact opposite mine could care less about being good and he will do whatever it takes to get a quick septim

How do you backstab a Dragon?

Let them attack you first then you will not get a bounty, I do it all the time and never get a bounty.True, but, sometimes they won't attack you. If you want to get them to attack you first just talk to them and tell them you worship Talos. Or if they have a prisoner go up to him and free him.

Well I knew about the prisoner that's never a problem (except of course for killing him after I get 'em - he tends to run - not easy with your hands tied). I hate talking to them. I may be an Altmer, but, as a former Justiciar, I know most of these a**holes for 100's of years and they're pompous even to my ear. Good idea though. Somehow, I think I would rather pay the bounty than give them the chance of recognizing me. (sorry I RP HARD!).

I don't know if this totally counts as a random encounter, but today I saw something pretty cool: two hired thugs who look exactly alike!

The only thing different is that one has banded iron armor, but their faces are the same and I thought that was pretty neat considering the way they look is randomly generated, right?

Oh yeah, lol. I forgot he was in the picture. :D
But definitely not a silly question! My character is the silly one. He is half Khajiit and half human. This is him from the front:

I made him that way by just using console commands to set his race to a Khajiit but edit his face as a Breton. :)

Thats sooo kewl!!
Im really jelous of you pc users ;)
so hes got the racially abilities of a catperson... is he a typical breton mage?
i want one!!
Yeah, when I only had Skyrim for PS3 I was so jealous too! :)
Yes, he has the deadly kitteh claws and night vision. He's not really a mage but he does use spells. Otherwise he just scratches people. :D I don't play him a lot though. I mostly just made him so I could have a visual to go along with a story idea I have. But he is still really fun to play as. ;)

Two sabre cats were attacking a mammoth, than I saw 2skeevers tearing off towards thebattle. The sabre cats turned around, demolished the skeevers than the mammoth stomped 1 cat and flung the other 20metres through the air. Definetly broke the monotony of the quiet morning!

I like that Sabre Cats vs. Mammoth encounter. The Mammoth always wins, and then just runs (literally) back and forth over the cats' corpses. :D

Are we sure it's a tail and not a tuck?

My favourite random encounter was just last week, a random Argonian came up to me telling me off because I'd run off without paying him. Apparently I had met him when I was drinking with Sam Guevenne and we had bet him 10,000 septims to go into a bandit fort and steal a hat, which the poor guy successfully did.

I felt bad for the guy, so I gladly paid him and let him go on his merry way back to the Black Marsh where he was going to settle down and buy a farm...or so he said.

Wicka waaah!!

I usually like random encounters, though I do hate being charged by multiple bandit chiefs at level 3. My favorite though is the encounter where the madwoman wants you to use the Wabbajack on her, though why you get a bounty for fulfilling her request is beyond me :p
