Has there ever been some factions or even some people that you are taught to hate but then when they tell you their story, you feel like you were wrong to judge? Or perhaps you liked someone and then he or she turned out to be a ruddy two-faced bitch?

I recently fought with the Forsworn at Markarth---THAT'S RIGHT, WITH!! I actually feel some pity for them after hearing a sad story from a Forsworn member. It was pitiful... However, I have come to rather despise Delphine from the Blades...

I believe that the dragon cult brutalized people until they were put down by the blades and others. So that may be another perspective. Seems that nothing in Skyrim is a as simple as it seems. As for the Forsworn, some would say their barbaric culture history. Who knows.

My characters keep it simple and identify with their clan. Keeps it simple when its time to perform house cleaning

Jaree-Ra is a perfect example of someone "turning out to be a two-faced bitch". God how I loved gutting his sister and afterwards him.

Forsworn are one of my favorite races. If only they were playable without a mod...

Farfetch'd is judging you!
Aren't Forsworn basically feral Bretons? Or are they their own race?

I believe Forsworn are Bretons. "Forsworn" is the name of the faction, not a different race. This is what I think anyway, might be wrong

I try to keep an open mind and play true to how I feel my character would actually relate to various factions or individuals.

That said, I can't stand Delfine on any of my characters simply because of how she comes across in the first several encounters.

I have heard a rumor that the Blades becomes a faction with radiant quests along with the ability to have followers join or something along those lines.

I wouldn't know as I never return to Sky Haven after finding it as my characters figure a rude bitch and a clueless rambling old man are not going to have much to offer.

As for the Forsworn, I too wish they had been a playable or somehow more involved faction.

Their story is very much one of perspective, with both sides having been wronged and with both sides continuing to commit atrocities against the other.

I love good moral ambiguity like that, to me it has a higher degree of realism than the cliched good versus evil.

Given a choice between the Blades and the Greybeards (and Paarth), the Blades are more fun imo. They have a better goal: "protect ALL of Tamriel", you can recruit 3 cool NPC's to join, those NPC's will join you in dragon killing missions from Esbern, Esbern will grant you a handy effect if you like to go ground melee with dragons, you can still learn just as many Shouts from the Blades as you would the Greybeards as each dragon you are sent to slay guards a Word. Not to mention you can legitimately meditate with Paarth and gain that bonus before siding with the Blades from an RP standpoint and not feel like a betrayer as you don't learn of his past until later.

From a gameplay standpoint, the Blades are extremely fun imo. Especially for me since I'm on foot 100% of the time. It's nice to arrive at a dragon lair and have a group of Blades there waiting for me.

Though I have no love for Delphine either...

I wrote both factions off on my primary character once I completed the main quest. I just figured it was time for the Dragonborn to set their own direction rather than deal with either has-been faction.

I guess I'll have to try and stomach Delphine at least once just to explore the Blades further, but as I usually put off the main quest till I've done a lot of the game, I doubt I'll find much use for them as my characters are already ridiculously overpowered by then.

I don't know... I play the game mostly on Master, sometimes on Legendary if I'm running full poison selection and I'm damn happy to see them Blades when I arrive at the lair. :)

I was for the civil war between the Imperials and Stormcloaks, before I was against it.....:p

Seriously though, I believe the best way to handle the civil war quest now is to not pick a side, and continue the main quest until the peace council with the Greybeards.

As for the Blades, I lost all respect for them after I did EVERYTHING for them and they demanded I slay Paarthurnax. The Blades are nothing more than deceitful exploiters in Skyrim.

Greybeards aren't exactly beacons of honesty either. They never bothered to mention the connection between Paarth and Alduin. A pretty important factoid they just conveniently brushed under the carpet.

Don't forget Arngeir's comments along the lines of 'well maybe it is just time for this world to end' when asked to provide information to help defeat Alduin, which he refuses to do so until called out by another Greybeard.

I do think it was a mistake to portray Delphine as such a bitch, leaving a lot of players with negative feelings towards the Blades simply because of her attitude, certainly in light of how sympathetic they made Paarthunax and the Greybeards in general.

Maybe they were just trying to make her all shrouded in mystery to build suspense? If so, they failed.

Yep, Forsworn for me too. Second time I fought with them.

My character, a former Argonian slave to some Dark Elves, knows what it feels like to have freedom taken away from you and for your people to be slaves. He started out with a deep hate for Dunmer, but ended up hating the Nords for the way they treat the Argonians. In fact, he hates Imperials too, while he was a slave in Cyrodiil the Empire did nothing to help him or his fellow slaves.
He hates just about anyone that's an elf or sides with the Imperials.
When he first found 3 Thalmor escorting a prisoner and he found out why, he had no second thoughts about killing those Thalmor.
After hearing what the Forsworn have gone through, he identifies with them. They are now his family, apart from the Argonians in Windhelm who he helps out and stays with from time to time.

I haven't actually had this experience. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt until they murder someone, then they never get it ever again. He had me listen to a terrible story, but I'd already decided the King in Rags was a cold blooded murderer after listening to Nepos's regrets about serving him by sending young people to their deaths. When he told me to kill Grisvar before he'd help me he basically sealed his fate. I don't like being told to murder other NPCs. I actually turned off the game purely to check online and see if there was a way of doing this quest without killing Grisvar, and was delighted to find there was.

With the Blades vs Greybeards, in the end what swayed me to Team Greybeard was the Greybeards were still willing to help the Dragonborn, even if they didn't like their ideas or choices. The Blades were basically: "You haven't killed Paarthurnax yet? GTFO!"
