I'm still hanging on to mine. Was tempted to sell them, but thought better of it. Unless you can find the person you sold them to, you're probably fluffed.

Once you get the Nightingale armour anyway, you won't need the Thieves Guild clothes.

o its mainly because i need to talk to the redgaurd who sells and buys stuff but all it shows is i can trade in one of the clothing and until i do im only prompted to speak to here about the clothes AHHHHH lol, and i sold my clothes to the girl in riften in the market next to the jewelry guy but i went back and she no longer has those clothes

Sorry but I think you're screwed. IIRC, the skyrim wiki says that if you don't have the old armor, you can't get it upgraded to the guild master armor, and you won't get the ending achievement of the guild questline (if that matters to you).

The only reason you need them is to upgrade them, just get nightengale armor and the arcane perk to improve them

Why would you sell them? Sorry, I doubt there's anything you can do.

Good luck on your next character? :p

i had this problem to !! i only the sold the gauntlets though. and i sold them to the redgaurd woman, and it was many days after so there was no chance she had them anyway, but, im not sure if they fixed this patch or not because it worked for me. (side note: you NEED the armor to upgrade, or else you cannot become guild master, and the quest in incompletable apperently) BUT, i had everything with me other than the gauntlets, yet she still gave me the full master guild armor set. so i wouldnt worry. also to get the armor before the master guild set, you only need one piece of armor to upgrade and youll be fine. but it worked for me even though i was missing the gauntlets for the master set

Even if you think you would not need a faction or group armor anymore, rather than selling them put them in a chest or your house. There is a chest beside Ysolda's House (To The Right) in Whiterun where you can store items, and there is the Dawnstar chest by the mine. Just store your items in there.

i kept everything else this is the only thing i sold thinking it wouldnt be of any use to me especcialy in getting the nightingale clothes but i was mistaken i save everything in my house in markarth and use my other houses as spots to enchante or make potions when im in those cities

why would you sell the best looking armor in the game

whaaat lol that brown get up is cheesy, i prefer the nightingale or ebony mail over that plus i only got ride of it because i thought it wouldnt play a roll in anything like the dark brother hood clothes

I just recently gave my Thieves Guild armor to my wife/companion as well as a bunch of weapons. She looks good in them and it certainly lightens my load. I'm wearing the Nightingale Armor right now, and it's pretty damn cool looking.
I also found this Orc helmet of Major Restoration in a dungeon and it pairs really well with the armor as well as being able to see my character's face.
