Used to have a nord who had red irises and black eyes. I think I read somewhere that with dawnguard installed they only go orange like now and they glow?

I rofl'd so hard when Vyrthur turned to Serana to tell what he was. Like, c'mon, it's not as if these eyes wouldn't be somewhat obvious. I've noticed that glowing before Serana even attacked the first Falmer when they broke out of the ice and standing right in front of him didn't make it better. So yeah, wouldn't want to have those eyes if I wanted better camouflage, Captain Obvious.

Yes, all vampire's eyes color change once Dawnguard is installed. I like it. In a shadowy area, the seem to glow red. Love it!

The only issue I have with it is how obvious it is. Vampires are supposed to blend in. That said, it does look cool and I think that was Bethesda's intention.

I disagree with the glowing eyes and the fugly sunken cheeks looks of vampires when not in vamp lord form, as part of the whole idea behind vampires is their ability to 'mask' their true nature to others.

It totally breaks all immersion for me to walk around a town full of people while it is obvious I am a vampire. I guess maybe the thought is that what I see is my true vampire self and what they see is something different, but it just feels out of place to have NPCs chat with me as though I'm a normal person while my eyes are glowing and I look like a corpse.

And don't even get me started on all the bugs with vampires like having your character end up with dirt all over their face when loading a save, yet knowing they didn't have the dirty look when you saved and existed the game.

Or the bug where human female races end up with dark eyes instead of the glowing eyes.

Or the whole vampire necromage buffing almost every ability in the game.

Good thing there are other people who dislike it as well, and some have made mods that let me tone down or neutralize the vanilla / Dawngaurd vampire look, while also fixing some of the bugs.

I just think vampires were a bit of an afterthought in the game, and even being the focal point of one of the DLCs, were sadly only partially developed.

I would also prefer a more subtle look for vampires. I'm okay with pale skin, but glowing eyes completely defeats the purpose of trying to blend in with the populace. But I'm on console, so no mods for me.
