Has anyone ever Climbed the small mountain in the very middle of Whiterun Hold's planes and found what looks like an unminable corundum or gold ore vein near the summit? It's pretty strange. This is pretty far-fetched, but I wonder if it'll be a part of a smithing related quest in upcoming dlc. It is in a pretty epic place, a single vein on the tip of a mountain. A lot like the malachite and ebony veins on the Throat of the World.
Anyone's thoughts would be appreciated.

I wouldn't be worrying about dlc's yet...keep questing and perhaps you'll find the answer

Wow... I'm embarrassed I haven't found this one yet at level 54....

Being me, I looked it up, and there's nothing about it being unminable. were you indicating I needed to find a pickaxe? XD

naw, i just figured that it might have to be in a quest, idk.

Oh. In that case I'm pretty sure it's a glitch, as the wiki indicates it's just an normal, minable gold ore vein.

hm...sorry about how the gold is there, ripe for the picking, and yet it mocks you by not giving you a context command

OHhh...I went their recently and found what you were talking about. It's weird because not only is it unmineable, but it's on the ground.

i think i know the one you mean, kinda in a triangle towards a peak? i mined it fine other day, all we can take from this presentation is that skryim is unpredictable at best
