How do you backstab a Dragon?
Personally I like the Hammerfell garb with proper enchantments. Otherwise Leather looks great (no helmet though). Can't stand fur armor - you just look uncivilized, although I don't mind the scale (except for the goofy helmet of course).

I have an archer that doesn't wear armor at all. She wears adept robes of illusion (even if she rarely uses magic) 'cause it looks boss and usually a circlet of some kind.

Linwe's Armor from the Summerset Shadows quest is good, as is light Dawnguard armor. Both look like proper armor rather than just wearing animal pelts.

I would ADORE the DG armor if only the Trench Coat was longer!

What I think LOOKS the best is, elven light armor (the one without pauldrons) an adept mage hood, hide bracers(or leather?) and dawnguard boots.

When in doubt, follow the fox.
Even the best archer needs armor that will protect her/him. So I go with the highest rated armor I can find, and I use enchantments on gauntlets and jewelry to increase my archery skill. I had always used Master Robes of Destruction as soon as I can get my hands on them, and didn't use any one armor consistently until I got Daedric Armor, which is so good I've grown dependent on it. It also allows me to carry more, and given that I am a capitalist hoarder of loot, that is a good thing.

Nightingale armour, Thieves Guild full set, and that high elf guy's armour (can't remember his name, think the quest started in windhelm)

Dragonscale Helmet , Gauntlets , and Boots with the grey variant of Vampire Armor.
Also looks good with Vampire Gauntlets if you don`t mind the lower armor rating

Pond lurker
depending on your race the shrouded hood, gloves and boots look good on the nightingale armor

Early to mid game, definitely studded armor for me, with fur bracers and boots (the ones stormcloaks use). Then a mage's cowl. I don't like anything metalic since it doesn't give you that wilderness feel of a hunter. And if I'm travelling in snow, I put on the long sleeve fur armor, but not the fur helmet, never the helmet.

Forsworn armour looks hot on female archers if you intend to play a more... "rogue" one.
I assume you mean by "rogue" = "slutty"? I always wondered why the female Foreswarn dressed like Rachelle Welch from 10,000 Years BC. Really now - how much protection can a fur bikini really give you? Gotta admit though, they do have some of the most obnoxious voices in the game. By the by, how on earth do they avoid freezing to death? (that's for both the male & female foreswarn). I can understand when their in a redoubt or cave, but they're in the open most of the time!

You assume correctly. :D
Well, as long as they remain in the region near Markarth it's not that much of a problem I guess, at least it doesn't snow there so freezing to death is out of the question (maybe Natives got a similar resistance to Frost like Nords?).
I don't really see how the armor protects them though. Most of the time I can just stare how a chick who just got one of my Daedric arrows stuck deeply in her stomach still comes running to attack me. But then again, there are also plenty of bandits in Heavy Steel Plate Armour running around with an arrow in their faces, so why bother, hehe.

Nightingale, but my level 70 Nord with 99 archery wears dragonscale.
