I'm curious to know which NPC you think is the most annoying character in the game and what hilarious or cruel (and maybe even both) thing you did to them.

For example: Nazeem was by far the most annoying NPC to me (Have you visited the Cloud District very often?) so I pickpocketed his clothes off and watched him walk around in his underwear. It was childish but very hilarious at the time. :D

Hmmm, let's see. In no particular order:

1. Nazeem, lord of the Cloud District apparently
2. Sigurd (I work for Belethor, at the general goods store, and I feel the need to tell you this 1000 times)
3. Gisli, but you can just call her Erikur's sister, everyone does
4. Taarie, who insults your clothes even if you bought them from her store
5. Braith, there's nobody she won't fight

I'll add more as I think of them :p

Nazeem, Gisli, Taarie...I agree 100%.

- Colette Marence, the Restoration master at the College of Winterhold....that voice. o_O *hisses*
- Assur, the Jarl of Winterhold's bratty kid. I don't like the children of Skyrim even on a good day, but that one needs a muzzle.
- Ondolemar...I know he's supposed to be a pompous jerk, but of all the Thalmor you encounter in Skyrim, he grates on my nerves the most.

The two assclown brothers in Falkreath
I hate Maven Black-Briar... or maybe I love her. Not sure.
That bald dude that never has what I need in Riften, beating his butt in front of his old lady never gets old.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that guy in the web. And to make it worse after you free him you have to chase him through the dungeon while he calls you a sucker. I just killed him in my second playthrough.

Oh, that bastard. Yeah, so much easier to just kill him right away than chasing his sorry butt through the Barrow. "Fine, let me see if I can cut you down....and when I say 'cut you down'..."

I don't like Sven, he's really creepy
The Whiterun priest as somebody already said
Camilla and Muiri get annoying after you finish their quests, I can overlook their annoyance due to their beauty though ;)
Taarie she's so mean I wanted to fus rah da her so badly!
Iona annoyed me because we were going on a quest where we had to be stealthy then all of a sudden she started going crazy killing everybody! I think it may have been some weird glitch not sure!

Idk but characters with the same voice as Sven bother me. That voice doesn't seem right for Skyrim. >.<

I'd like to add a few to LotusEater's list:

Any of the Orcs in Gloombound mine:
While mining Ebony Ore they will constantly tell you "You shouldn't be here."
I finally went berserk and slaughtered them all just so I could mine my ore in peace.

Idolaf Battle-Born if you answer "Gray-Mane" to his question:
"I should bash your face in for what you've done."
I cast Rage on him the first time and watched while all the guards gutted him like a pig, but now I just ignore him.

Belethor in Whiterun:
There's a couple of innocent questions which after asking him, he'll lay into you with some rather snarky responses.
I'd roast him over an open pit if I could get away with it, but instead I just sell him my crap and move on.

For some strange reason Nazeem's never bothered me like he does everyone else. He's really nothing more than a prissy little snob, so I just ignore him as well.

Seriously though, anyone other than a villain caught mouthing off to a Dragonborn is just asking to get their tongue ripped out.

Nice additions... I'd also like to add Brynjolf to my list. I get sick of him telling me he's too busy to talk while he downs his ale with Devin. In fact Brynjolf, Vex and Devin all walk on thin ice with me.

Nazeem... Nuf said.

I didn't notice how annoying that Priest in Whiterun was until everyone started pointing it out. Revisiting my old character the other day I decided to end his ranting. I thought I would get hammered by the guards but apparently he annoyed them to because I only incurred a bounty of 20 gold. Totally worth it :)
Oh and he now decorates his Talos statue he so adored in life :) Took me ages to get his ass delicately balanced on top, but again, totally worth it :)

Braith, Assur, the priest in whiterun, and Sven.
And god do i loathe the restoration mage in the college, you try hearing "Do you think resoration magic is important?" in that damn banshee voice without Fus-Roh-Dah'ing her off the bridge..

Edit:Oh, and every town guard everywhere, if i hear "I use to be an adventurer like you" or "Let me guess, someone took your sweetrole" again i may just kill the guy on the spot.

For me it's a tie between two, neither of whom have appeared on this thread. (EDIT: Or they were when I started typing this half an hour ago, but it appears Lotuseater hates one too, but for different reasons).

The first is Arondil of Yngvild Barrow. Why has a boss in one remote dungeon earned a place earned a place on my most hated NPC list? Because I never recovered from reading his journals detailing his lust for the milkmaids of Dawnstar sliding into full blown necrophilia then watching him catch sight of my female PC and saying: "Ah! Another plaything for my collection!" Luckily I am able to kill him with zero consequences or moral qualms. I relish killing him. But whenever I roleplay characters who don't have any reason to go near Yngvild, it's hard to stay away. Real hard.

The second I might cope a bit of flak for and will make people hate me, but it's Brynjolf. I really object to the way he decides based off the way I dress and act that I am a thief. My first character had earned every single septim of her money honestly, so I was very annoyed when this red headed creep marched up assuming that not only was I a thief, I'd be totally happy to help him with his dishonest plot to frame an innocent shopkeeper I'd already spoken to and liked WAY better than this dick who thinks I don't walk and dress as befits my station and morality.

If it was just that, Brynjolf would only be on my: "Jerks in Skyrim" List with the likes of Nazeem, Heimskr and Braith. What elevates him to the list of most annoying NPC is the man is completely incapable of taking a hint. If you don't feel like going through Brynjolf's entire long conversation when he first approaches you, you can tab out. If you this, Brynjolf will say: "I can take a hint lass. Come find me if you change your mind." This is the biggest lie a Skyrim NPC has ever told me. Every time I get into a two foot radius of Brynjolf for the rest of eternity he says: "Glad to see you came to your senses lass. Ready to make some coin?" Brynjolf, I wasn't ready to make some coin the last 98648224 times I went near you, so why the hell do you think 98648225th time is going to be different? Take a bloody hint!

After playing one character who lived in Riften and wasn't a thief, the only thing which stopped me from killing Brynjolf was his essential status. One time I decided to say yes and do nothing to see what happened. After he finished his scripted distraction he just stood there silently for five minutes grinning and pointing at his Elixir until I got bored and reloaded, but I saw a Let's Play where the guy wandered into the Ratway and Brynjolf yelled at him and made him try again. So when my current character goes back to Riften I'm going to keep doing that and see if Brynjolf eventually snaps and refuses to let me in the Thieves Guild or if he keeps giving me chance after chance after chance.

I always cut him down, then go: "HA HA HA HOO HA!" as he calls me a fool and runs off straight into the angry draugr and spike wall trap. He's not even worth killing personally.

Haha...I didn't know he'd run straight into the trap if you let him keep going. I'll remember that one for next time.

Yep, he was the first person I used Raise Zombie on. I attacked the guards with him following me around, but after a few seconds he turned into ash. Fun over.

Braith. Most of the other characters people dislike I don't have a problem with. It's kind of like how you side with Squidward as opposed to Spongebob. Nazeem? He's fine. But Braith is a bitch.

1. Maeven Black-Briar: I hate how snotty she is. I'm sure my character has more money than she does and could mop the floor with her. She needs to show some respect. Worst choice for new Jarl. I wish I could kill her but it would break the game.

2. Jarl Balgruuf's kids: same reason as Maeven Black-Briar.

2. Cicero: I know a lot of people like him, but I really really hate his voice.

3. Brynjolf: ...or rather my character who is a real alchemist hates Brynjolf for selling fake potions and discrediting real alchemists.
