Dear Forum,

Recently, there was a suggestion that I move to Oklahoma. Though it sounds nice, I intend to stick it out a bit longer in Texas. However... I wonder.

Hypothetically, where would you suggest I move and why? Any city, any state or province, any country, any continent. As its hypothetical, there is no limit and I'm interested on all responses and reasons. I kind of want to move to Virginia because I love the accent and dialect. Maybe Mexico to be close to some of the family.

Where do you think I should go? And why?))

Well you can still own a gun in Australia you just need a license. And luckily we don't suffer from high crime and corruption, so it's not really necessary to have a gun for protection. However if you enjoy hunting and shooting it's not too restricted (although many hunters wish it were less so, naturally).

Also if you moved to Tasmania where I live, you won't experience much heat. Right now it's winter and outside it's -1 degree Celsius (about 31 Fahrenheit) outside.

The climate's a lot like Skyrim actually. Not Windhelm, but perhaps Whiterun or Riften. Also there's lots of beautiful wilderness around, just like Skyrim!

I'm originally from California, and I have traveled quite a bit throughout the rest of the United States (except for anywhere on the east coast). I currently live in Tucson, Arizona and so far I'm a little unimpressed with the reputation for extreme heat. I lived in central Texas for a few years actually and it seemed a lot hotter there than it does here. If the desert sounds appealing, then here in Arizona would be the ideal place to live. Though not so much if you're trying to get away from the heat. Though as I mentioned, it seemed a lot hotter in Texas than here. Here there are good gun laws though if you're supportive of 2nd amendment rights and there's great hunting to be done out in the desert if you're into that as well. Some drawbacks living around here are that the cities don't seem to be very well developed and maintained and I have yet to find any good local beer.

My time in Texas was interesting and I'd suggest it as a good place to live as well though you already seem to have experience with that. I like that the cost of living evens out pretty well with the wages you can earn in that area and it's not as backwards as some people make it out to be. It's too big though lol and it's a pain in the butt to get anywhere because everything is so far apart.

California of course is home to me and I'll always love it despite it's drawbacks. I lived in the north bay which has an incredibly diverse population of people with lots of different points of view, and different cultures in addition to lots of hi tech jobs. Though I'm growing to love the desert here in Arizona, I still prefer the big cities back home. Plus even if you live in a big city, there is no shortage of wilderness too far away and you get to enjoy some gorgeous beaches. Food is great too, I grew up where they produce a lot of the nation's fruit and vegetables. Being so close by you get to enjoy it when it's most fresh. They also have a lot of microbreweries here that make the best beers in my opinion. Drawbacks are that it's insanely expensive to live there and the gun laws are ridiculously restrictive with no basis in reason or logic.

Depending on the area, Mexico could seem like a scary place to live these days though. I have a relative who has died there (my grandfather's brother) and my cousin's girlfriend lost her father there to drug violence as well. Of course they both resided in high risk areas. Course it's all about what you get yourself into. After a recent trip through Nogales, it didn't seem like anything was out of the ordinary though others have reported it starting to get bad I hear. No one pestered me though while I was there.

Toronto, Canada.

extremely multi-cultural, extremely friendly, ranked one of the healthiest/best cities to live on earth, insanely low crime rate for such a metro, great government services, plenty of jobs,

Short, hot/rainy summers, short falls, practically no spring and long winters (not so bad tho this year)

You can get guns here, but you won't need em. Crime rate isn't even there and the police actually do their job.

Dat free healthcare doe.

Poland, because from what I've heard the people are some of the best in the world. I intend to visit Poland myself one day.

I remember they had to block Australian women from the military docks because they broke something on a US Navy ship with a baseball (name and number written on it), do all Australian women have arms like that?! o_O

Haha not all but a lot do, especially if they play cricket or netball. I can think of several girls I know who could easily throw better than me, but since I'm a non-sport playing nerdy guy, that isn't saying much :p

Weather is crazy over in Virginia, at least the place I grew up around DC. Though I love the area, the place practically turns into a mosquito infested, constantly humid swamp in the summer. While in winter it gets pretty cold, and every once in a while you'll have a blizzard. Just something to consider if you ever want to move there.

Poland, had beautiful green countryside. I think rolling hills and green plains, and I'm talking GREEN. Like grass and trees and stuff. From what I've heard, you will be hard pressed to find an ugly Polish gal, and the people are generally more intelligent than we are here in the U.S. You can always google the countryside and temperature and all that travel info.

Australia!

You get the good weather of Texas without all the guns.

The guns are replaced with all manner of evil creatures that want to eat you.

There are 5000 snakes in Australia. 4,999 of them are poisonous.

The other eats you whole.))

So, I was speaking with someone here at work (a client), and we got to talking about how neither of us were from Texas. She was from Vietnam, I was from California. She, delving deeper, asked why I came to Texas. I told her "To find a job. Been here for about a year now, thinking about moving on."

At that point she said I am a pretty smart guy, so she suggested I move to VIETNAM and get married. I'm sure she had someone in mind when she said that...

Anyways, still looking at Virginia. Maybe Maryland.))
