I have never used a Vampire Lord transformation before. How does the Grip mechanic work?
You have to get the perk by either doing multiple bite attacks or the drain health which is easier and unlock the spell than use it as a normal telekinesis spell. it basically holds the enemy in front of you as if you were holding an extremely light dead animal like a fox when it was dead. while doing that the victim is losing health and is subjected to explosive drain health spells and once you let go of the spell button they go flying possibly off of a very high spot. the only downside is that its a tad expensive in the magicka pool but if you are a spell caster then it shouldn't be a problem.
I see. Well then there are three possibilities for a werewof to come out on top. One, he uses ambush tactics utilizing his superior senses, instincts, and lay of the land. Two, he manages to avoid the grip dodging from cover to cover (which isn't likely). And three, the grip is stupid and werewolves hunt in packs. You grip the first werewolf, its mate takes you out while your back is turned.
You can simply take the werewolf and throw him quickly then move on to the next one. or you can use a paralyze spell to take them out of the fight temporarily. but like i said this is 1 on 1 if you wanna bring werewolf packs into this i can bring in the vampires thralls and any creature that it raises from the dead.

Werewolves hunt in packs? Really? Of course, with the perk you can call some to come to you, but I've never seen them in packs, ever!

Pfft. Werewolves are hunters. You wouldn't notice the ambush until it was too late, if we assume they didn't make any mistakes. And I'm merely giving possible scenarios of a werewolf vvictory. You seem to be under the impression a master hunter would prey upon a Vampire Lord without an ace in the hole.

And werewolves are superior to any human thrall you can bring in.

They dont always have to be humans they can raise many things from the dead and the werewolves cant take down a vampire lord in one shot and they also cant sneak. if they could (and they should be able to) then i would go with werewolf but they cant. when an animal hunts they go for quick kills not entire fights.

*Slight Dragonborn spoilers*

There's a werewolf pack you can interact with on Solstheim. Not sure if they transform or not should you happen to piss them off.

If you're counting on necromancy, I'm afraid all those minions died when you became a vampire lord. You can only bring back things found on site.

And you don't have to be in sneak mode to avoid detection, unless you have NPC sense and you use the force to sense a disturbance. And thinking realistically of course a werewolf can be stealthy.

If you go by pure game mechanics then the Lord wins simply because spellcaster AI is the best in the game.

Ya its not hard to find a dead thing and there is a necromancy spell in the lords arsenal and can use it on one of the werewolves he killed. Real wolves normally arent very stealthy they use packs to help them

I really wish becoming a werebear was an option. I love werewolves don't get me wrong but the first time I saw werebears charging at me my first thought was "WANT" :p

Werewolves will randomly attack you in groups of three in Skyrim. Depending on what you consider a pack, and keeping ythe limitations of the game engine in mind, they do hunt in packs. There is also the companions, which are a pack btw, that never transform because of the way the devs made the game.

I always get 'em. I just stick with Aela once I'm done with the main. Mine always go Animal Extermination - Totem - Animal Extermination - Animal Extermination - Totem - Animal Extermination - Animal Extermination - Animal Extermination - Totem (1/1/2/1/3/1). Ya gotta be sure to pray at the totem too or you don't get the affect I discovered! Hope it works out for you.

The VL's necromancy spell maxes out at level 36. Werewolves max out at level 46, if the help is NPC. So no werewolf minions for you.

And unstealthy werewolves is just a game mechanic, and if you are basing this thread purely on game mechanics, all argument is useless as there is no contest between a werewolf and vampire lord. A vampire lord wins every time, hands down.
