Darth Brogan

Sith Lord
So in my character's backstory, he has always been one of the greatest wizards in all of Tamriel and he keeps finding ways to keep himself alive for long periods of time, so I play the same character in Morrowind and Oblivion. After they implemented the face-sculptor in Skyrim, I decided to make my character age as he leveled up, so his magic that has kept him alive since Morrowind has worn off. At first, he became a vampire to continue to live forever, but he later cured himself after being unable to withstand that life, so he has come to accept his impending death whenever I feel that his time has come.

The whole idea of actually having my character die was when I was walking on a bridge somewhere in the southwest of Skyrim, and I looked down, and just thought how nearly everything I wanted to do with that character has been done, and there's not much left for him to do. I was slowly inching closer and closer to the side of the bridge, planning on declaring it the end of that character's life forever. I couldn't do it. Someday I will, but not today.

So my question for all of you is: have you ever acted out the death of your character?

It's fun to think about.

Caspar would die old, grumpy, and frail. Kinda like Vignar.

Erissare, being an Altmer, would probably live for a couple thousand years before simply dying in her sleep.

Ruaidhin would accidentally suffocate.

Sylvain is already partially dead... well, he's old enough to be.

Dances... no idea. He'd probably disappear one day and never be seen again.

Nenothrys would die peacefully at a ripe old age.

Same with Lucius.

Burgash would probably decapitate himself on accident.

Tilann would get killed in a fight if she couldn't win.

Nomad would die fighting at an old age. He would also most likely be praying to God when his death comes. He would most likely be fighting the thalmor or the daedra or the empire.

I had never considered my character dying. I thought Dragonborn just lived forever or something. Now I gotta think of that part of my characters story.

In game and RP I have only killed "permanently" one character. I made my professional Assassin Argonian Hides-Many-Knives act crazy and eratic trying to manipulate an RP I was in. So basically I decided fluff it cause he was acting so "out of character." And in Role Play verse he had a family so I gave him tuberculosis and basically he was acting crazy for some strange fantasy of making his daughter a queen.

I get attached to my characters. I don't like thinking of them dying violently, especially after Hearthfire came out.

In my headcanon, they got fed up with the adventuring lifestyle and being nearly killed all the time, put away their armour and weapons, and retired. They lived on their great riches and/or found a peaceful way to make money and spent the rest of their lives living quietly at home with their family. Every single one of them died of extreme old age in bed surrounded by weeping grandchildren. Screw you, game filled with adventure and danger, it's what happened.

I really like the idea of my characters being able to live peacefully and quietly after all the drama and trauma Skyrim quests put them through.

Aercion! I made him have an amazing story. The gods gave him the ability to be immortal except while battling, which was completely guaranteed to him that he would win, unless he didn't want to (which has happened so far). He is a Snow Elf and has been living for... so long that even he is tired of living, but his ego doesn't allow him to lose, and he keeps feeling tempted to defeat every foe. Whenever he dies in combat, his soul will rest, but his self esteem will be hurt. So he is sentenced to battle until he commits a crucial mistake. Who knows, maybe one day a draugr will shout him out of a cliff, or maybe the Ebony Warrior, with a dragonbone armor with the very same enchantment as well as dragonbone weapons will be able to put him out of his misery. Whoever lost that battle would be happier than the winner.

Why is the alto wine always gone?
when i have to delete a character I tend to to travel to a respectful place (on foot) that is relative to their race, such as my nord character went far to the north where I swam out into the ocean.....i pretended it was a pire but alas i cound not find anything to float him on. with my orc i had him die in battle, as is the custom with all male orcs. but i made it a challenge, I battled a dragon and put up a good fight But I did throw the fight cos i wanted to delete him. I have been doing this with several characters seeing how they have done all that i require and decided to start a new playthrough, it brings satisfaction to me personaly

One time, my character was possesed and killed an old woman. He couldnt live with the guilt, so he went to the bridge outside windhelm and jumped.

Do you get attached to your characters? Because with my main character, I feel that when I make him die, I won't be able to delete the save, and I'm just gonna wind up playing him again someday and making up some dumb story about how he came back to life.

Well, brogan, if you want to keep playing him I would seeing as they are making an elder scrolls 6! I will probably play as the heir of my character.

Yeah, after I finally kill him off, I'll just play his grandson or whatever depending on when ES6 takes place.

Will you be playing as the same character in ESO?

Most likely, if I can find the funds for it every month. Shouldn't be too bad

I do get attached to my characters, but every good book as an ending, and the ending of my characters reflect them personaly, like the one that was Harbringer (cant spell lol) I had him stand in the forge b4 i deleted him...and other characters that join the companions i always make sure to through a few dagger and other thing as offering to him.

Yeah, I feel like a character that I've spent over a year playing is too dear to me, so I don't think I can ever delete him. But if I have a character that I go through quickly, I wouldn't have a problem deleting them.

So my question for all of you is: have you ever acted out the death of your character?

I've never acted out the death of my character, or had any desire to (yet). But my first character, Rashka The Slayer, got deleted by accident when I was really tired one night. I had just gotten Smithing and Enchanting up to 100, and had her decked out in Epic Elven Armor and Weapons, and dual enchants on everything. I was pretty bummed as I knew that version of her was gone forever, but I later re-created her with the same basic appearance, but a different line-up of skills and perks.

I haven't thought about whether or not I'm going to kill off any of my characters in the future. Maybe after all their quests/missions have been completed they will just disappear, never to be seen again, due to the fact that most of them are assassins with a dark past.

My character died of Ataxia 6 month ago, don't know how he contacted the disease though, as he never traveled to Cyrodil
