Now's not the time for fear. That comes later.
I am trying to make an armor mod and I am using the Guild Master Armor as a base for it. Really I'm just changing the name and the value and stuff like that, but I also want to change the color. I have checked everywhere for how to do that on the Creation Kit and I can't find anything that says how. Is it possible to change the color using the Creation Kit? If so, then how? Please tell me I am not a very experienced modder and have failed at making any that I have tried, well really I just gave up, but I do not want to give up on this one. So will someone please tell me how to change the armor's color?

That's not something you do in the Creation Kit. If you just want to change colors you need to get some program that can open the bsa files and locate the appropriate mesh and texture files (mesh is .nif format and texture is .dds). You'll need to edit the dds files in some program like Photoshop or Gimp, which may require you to download and install a dds plugin. You'll need to save the files under a new name unless you want to create a texture replacer mod. (Texture replacer only requires that you drop the loose dds files into the correct folder under Data\Textures in your Skyrim directory.)

If you're not doing a replacer, you'll need to open the mesh files in Nifskope and locate the BSShaderTextureSet node under BSLightingShaderProperty and change the file path to point to your new textures. After that, you use the Creation Kit to point to the meshes with the altered texture.

Edit: Here's links to programs you'll need. Regarding the BSA unpacker, I happen to use the one attached to Fallout Mod Manager, but there are several to choose from.

Gimp:http://www.gimp.org/
Gimp DDS: http://code.google.com/p/gimp-dds/
