Haven't gotten around to watching the series, but I have the first four books. I'm currently about halfway through A Clash of Kings (which is the second book) and I am in love with this series. Definitely some of the best literature I have ever read, hands down.

Those books are the best damn books I have ever read. Still waiting on number six, George. Damn guy takes his time for sure.
The TV show is alright, but as with everything, the books are better.
Also, if you didn't know, Season Three is only the first half of the third book, Storm of Swords, because that book has so much pl*ps in it. I think the fifth book will be divided into two seasons as well, but not the fourth. I think.

Nine Holds fighting each other for High King, but make the current High King the son of the queen and her brother and not the king's son, one of the Jarls the rightful heir, the second brother to the High King that just died, then another Jarl who claimed himself king just for pl*pss and giggles, and then another Jarl who just wants to avenge the death of his father and has no intention of taking the throne, then have another contestant who is currently in Akavir, building an army, waiting to strike Skyrim and reclaim the throne from the usurpers.
...yeah, no.

Well it's not all good guys and bad guys clash... Even considered bad guys do something good or considered good guys do bad things which most of the time later on makes it complicated... well things aren't simple anymore for solving. There are only 4 characters that I didn't change my opinion and those are John Snow and his little half sister (good guys) and the previous ones I mentioned as bad guys.

That's the point - your favorite characters end up being which one you hate less. It accurately reflects real life, in that we are not perfect, and that there is never a 'good guy' or a 'bad guy'. Everyone has their flaws, and some seem more 'flawed' than others.
I agree, opinions change a lot throughout this series. But I think that's one of the things George Martin gunned (guns - he is still writing
) for when writing these books - to make the qualities of the characters accurately reflect qualities of a real human being, and we all have good and bad sides.

That is what I meant when I mention complexity of the series. It's not just black and white like most movies or series that are served to us. Most of the characters they consider themselves good, like in real life a lot of people are not aware that from some other point of view what they are doing or done is actually bad thing.That's the point - your favorite characters end up being which one you hate less. Anyway... always after this series it makes me play Crusader Kings 2 (It's a strategy game where you can be duke, king or emperor and you have traits like midget, maimed, scarred, gay... and then you have like royal marriages and plots and all other stuff...) or it makes me to play Skyrim if I watch after more action based episode and with less plots.
