hey everyone,

i havent played skyrim since the fall, so im starting up again and would like to know what most people consider the most fun builds. please let me know! explain it if you can =)

Joker

Cook, Wine Taster, Scotch Taster, Adventure Seeker
I prefer the Archery/1H/Light Armored Sword & Shield Ranger that roams the land & sneaks for kill shots in dungeons & caves. I have tried Mages, and with the exception of one that I had leveled to 30 that got saved over , the Ranger is my favorite. I will be trying the Barbarian build that is in another thread, just to try 2H weaponry and HA for a change.

Be a thief and a ranged assassian. Get really good at sneak, archery and pick pocketing. I never realized how fun sniping people was cause its been a long time since I played a pure archer (Almost pure.)

Kalin of High Rock

Faal Lun Vahdin
Pickpocketing.

Riften is now a nudist colony. Ever watch half a dozen unarmed guards in loin cloths chase around a thief for a half an hour? Or blindly rush a master vampire and his thralls with nothing but their fists and body-hair?

Hi-larious!

Rude people? Clothing rights revoked. Oh, I should rethink my outfit? Well, you're naked. And you should do some squats to get rid of that cottage cheese.

Some have a stupid hat? Snatch it off their head and drop it in a river. Want some skimpy tavern cloths without having to murder a skank? Put your magic fingers to work! The applications are limitless!

LOL, you are evil, I like it! :beermug:

I think I'm more neutral, like any good thief. My pranks are generally harmless, and I only kill when necessary. Which is amazingly infrequently when you're as sneaky as I am.

Why kill someone when you can take everything they have without harming a hair on their head!

Evil is not always a bad thing, neutral is not always good either. :D

Sneak, archery, light-armor + conjuration ... backstab, kill from distance when you have to, move faster and have the atronach to help you out when you need it.

I know, You know
I love me some Battlemage, it just get's too easy to own people after awhile.

You forgot 1H.....in case that sabercat sneaks up on you......:D

High King of Skyrim

King of the barbarian horde
Barbarian characters are my favourite. Wield a two handed weapon and don some light armour and off you go!
This build relies on dealing as much damage as possible in the shortest time possible. The light armour keeps you nimble in battle. Think Muhammed Ali and float like a butterfly, sting like a bee!:D

Ultimate Evil - Illusionist, Necromancer (pretty much how I usually build a Vampire)

Duel-casting a Frenzy spell into a group of bandits and watch them tear each other to pieces, only for the last one standing to have to fight his friends all over again after I've raised them with my dark magic. *cue evil laugh*

Good - Paladin

Sword, Shield, Heavy Armour, Crossbow and Restoration spells. If you learn how to utilise the playstyle, you become pretty much unstoppable. Heavy Armour and a Shield provide the best protection, coupled with healing magic, wards, etc - almost unkillable.

Immersion - Ranger

Hunting in the wilds without a care in the world, trying to keep out of trouble from those tiresome bandits, or taking the fight to them in the name of the Jarl. Earn an honest living collecting meats and pelts from the wilds, camping under the stars and selling your goods in the cities to pay for a couple of nights at the inn with friendly faces.

Perkless in Skyrim

Bad to the Dragonbone.
I return time and time again to playing a Thief/Assassin type character. It feels like I have the most freedom to take advantage of all that the game offers. Why else are there so many things to steal? And it's so satisfying to one-shot someone from the shadows or slip up silently from behind to slice their throat with a dagger.

I also have a lot of fun blasting my opponents with Destruction magic or warping their little minds with Illusion.

Ever so often, it's good to just take a sword and shield in hand and go get in someone's face.

I can't pick just one play style.

Riften Guard

Bad Thief
Best and most entertaining build is defenetly unarmed. It doesn't do any damage at higher levels unless you use some exploits. Nothing like a good dental appointment or suplexing an orc.

Pretty Vampires

Bunny Foo Foo
Sexy, Alpha, Chick, who is the Guildmaster.

No better way to make a girl jealous than to prance around with a big bust and curves that make men drool intelligence, and personality.

I've been having a great time playing around with an Archer/Mage build. It makes for a very light, quick character who can sneak in, snipe enemies with poisoned arrows, and lay some Destruction or Conjuration magic on them if they're getting too close. Nothing like throwing down a Rune and watching some poor fool blunder into it as they're coming to kill you...hehe...

Alchemy, Sneak (obviously) and Alteration are great supplements to this build. Oakflesh/Stoneflesh helps immensely if you prefer mage robes to armor. And of course with Conjuration you have Bound Sword, which increases both One-Handed and Conjuration skills when you use it (and has some amazing perks like Soul Stealer). With this build I like to have a couple of enchanted daggers on hand for dual-wielding as well...good to have in case things get real in a hurry :p

Streets

The Gentleman Owl
Hello Dragon Kin. I thought I would pop in and drop my inspiration, since I see no one else has posted it yet.

http://theskyrimblog.ning.com/group/character-building/page/category-80

The "legendary" builds from the Skyrim Blog have some truly amazing character builds. I particularly like the Demon Hunter, Necro Knight http://theskyrimblog.ning.com/group/character-building/forum/topics/character-build-the-necro-knight, the Revenant, and War Priest.

I would suggest reading through a few builds to at least get some ideas from all the great people there. Even if you don't want to play a build exactly like they set up, you can get some good inspiration.

I typically like classes that are hybrid warrior/mage. They seem to be interesting longer than a warrior or mage alone could be (in my opinion!)

Nightblade. If you have PC then you will happy to know there are various ''new'' mods. Try using dishonored magic mods, most popularly the ''blink'' teleport mod and also try death from afar mod which lets you throw weapons, spears and even alchemic bombs. If you aren't convinced of the Assassin + Mage or Thief + Mage build maby this will it made me truly reliase how badass they can be. Also try
  • Dwarven mechanical equipment
  • Dwarven googles
  • Locational damage
  • Hunterborn
  • Ultimate combat (improves the combat greatly!)
