Obsessed with the aldmeri dominion
So, Im more of the armor making, and weapon making (smithing) type guy. I already have my armor up to a rating of over 300 all together. My orcish armor, is 126. So I thought, is there any way to make my armor better? First: I havent enchanted yet so how do I enchant?
Second: Are there any enchantments to make my armor rating go up?

Enchanting and Alchemy can do wonders for your smithing.

As for your second question, there's no enchantment that makes your Armor Rating itself go up, but you can improve your Heavy Armor/Light Armor skill itself with an enchantment, or you can make enchanted Smithing gear which when stacked with the potion and 100 Alchemy, you can easily reach armor rating cap. Hope this helps

In order to use enchantments you have to find weapons that have them already and disenchant them.

Axe of Whiterun is a good example, if you disenchant it, you're able to use the Cold Damage enchant on any weapon you wish.

Once you unlock an enchantment, you have to use Soul Gems to power the enchantment. The power of the enchant itself is based off your Enchanting skill and the Soul Gem, go for Grand Soul Gems which are the most powerful.

A quick way to improve Enchanting is by doing the Azura's Star quest and getting the Black Star, it will trap the souls of all humans you fight and let you use them to power your weapons.

You can either enchant a weapon with Soul Trap OR fight any enemy until they are low on health. Then cast the spell "Soul Trap" on them, making sure you have a soul gem in your inventory, and finish them off. Different size souls go in different gems. For example; Rabbit = Petty, Mammoth = Grand, and Human = Black.

If you want a really awesome (but boring) OP weapons, the Alchemy/Enchanting Exploit does wonders.


An easy way to get Souls into soul gems is in the
Soul Carn in the Dawnguard DLC.

Okay, thanks..I usually run into dragons, wolves, bears, trolls..Those sort of things..What soul gems would I use for them?
