Theres nothing in game on him, only that he betrayed his dragon masters.

That sucks a little, I story would have been nice on the "First" dragonborn.

When you go back to skyrim or anything, do the grey beards or blades comment on the event?

No one seems to praise you for saving tamriel yet again.

He reminds me of like an ancient sun god in real life like Ra, and we are jesus trying to keep the old age sun god away haha. But I think you can learn more about him from Neloth, or the Skaal.

I actually had to do a play thru again recently because some of my save files got currupted, and nope. They don't say anything about him at all.

I'm guessing he was kind of a "Jamed in" lore character. He's kind of interesting but I don't think he was invented till last year.

Bethesda always neglecting an NPC that has a good storyline which deserves a backstory.

I wouldn't mind doing the story again, fully trying to experience it too, as I quickly went through it first time.

Miraak is another addition to the Bethesda pantheon of Big Bads with no backstory, much like Alduin, Umaril the Unfeathered and Jyggalag.

You get Dragonrend without killing Paarthurnax..

This is probably my favourite Miraak source :)

My least favorite part of the DLC is Miraak's lack of identity. I think he had the potential to be a super cool nemesis if they had kept him as the face of evil for longer than one quest instead of you-know-who and gave him a bit of an arc.

For me Miraak had a Darth Vader vibe to him. His voice even reminded me of Vader. I wished that there was a comic book based on the lore of the Elder Scrolls. It would be interesting to see Miraak's entire life story told.

Miraak could have been a great anti-hero character, or at least a sympathetic villain, instead he's full of rather empty/generic dialogue that would better fit the villain at the end of a small quest.

I've mentioned this in a thread that I created a while ago, but Miraak seemed really desperate to escape Apocrypha and he was extremely powerful. He was powerful and smart enough to create new shouts, and he was confident/arrogant enough to turn on the dragon cult, he had also spent a vast amount of time in a plane of Oblivion which surely affected him. So why is he just a generically arrogant villain for the absolute majority of his screen time?

Anyway what we do know is that he was once part of the dragon cult, is dragonborn, most dragons were no match for him and he eventually turned on the dragon cult, who ultimately drove him to Apocrypha. I really wish there was some in-depth lore about Miraak, or at least...any sort of depth to his story. Oh well.
